Title: Educational Strategies for Enhancing Student’s Academic Performance Among SHS

Students

EducationalTheory/ies:
:Beliefs-Knowledgerapport
: Classroom Management Theory

Research Problem: This study conducts the effectiveness of educational strategies for improving
student’s academic performance among Senior High School Students in MASHS.

Statement of the Problem:

:What are the complications congregate by the respondents in their lessons and activities?
: How efficient are the use of these strategies to the Senior High School Students of MASHS?

Null Hypothesis: In the aim to determine the effectiveness of Educational Strategies, the null
Hypotheses are to be tested.
1. There is no significant difference between the lessons and activities of the students.
2. There is no significant difference in using these strategies to comply with the academic
performance of the Senior High School Students.

Instrument/tool: Classroom Management Intervention Strategies Scale – CMIS (Gordon, 2002)

and Pupil Control Ideology - PCI (Willower, Eidell, & Hoy 1973).
Title: An Analysis of SHS Student's Backgrounds, Motivations, and Attitudes: The Relationship
To Classroom Retention

Educational Theory/ies: Input - environment - outcome" model (Astin, 1993)

: Student Retention Theory

Research Problem: This study will address student risk factors identified by their specific
indicators and their links to student course completion. The purpose of this study was to determine
if a relationship exists between student's backgrounds, motivations, and attitudes and their
academic successes or failures while enrolled in a single core level general education class at
Mahonri Academy And Science High School.

Statement of the Problem: Is there a statistically significant relationship between a student's

academic success and a student's re-enrollment at MASHS during the next academic year?
:Is there a statistically significant relationship between specific student indicators of backgrounds,
motivations, and attitudes and student academic success as defined as completion of the course
with a grade of C or better in a required core level general education class at Mahonri Academy
And Science High School?
:Are some student indicators better predictors than others of student academic success in a core
level general education course at MASHS?

Null Hypothesis: In the aim to determine the Analysis of SHS Student's Backgrounds,
Motivations, and Attitudes: The Relationship To Classroom Retention, the null
hypotheses are to be tested.
1. There is no statistically significant relationship between a student's academic success and a
student's re-enrollment at MASHS during the next academic year.
2. There is no statistically significant relationship between specific student indicators of
backgrounds, motivations, and attitudes and student academic success as defined as completion
of the course with a grade of C or better in a required core level general education class at Mahonri
Academy And Science High School?

Instrument/tool: Standardized surveys developed by Noel-Levitz

Research Design: The study employed an associational research design using data gathered
from a student survey to examine the relationship of student indicators to student academic
success in a required core level general education course at MASHS. This type of design is similar
to a correlational design. Associational research uses a nonexperimental design that compares
groups by studying attribute independent variables. The independent attribute variables for this
study are student indicators measured by a survey instrument. The dependent variables for this
study were student success or failure.
Title: The Relevance of Science Education As Perceived by Junior High School Students of
MASHS

Educational Theory/ies
: Constructivism
: Affective factors of learning

Research Problem: This study is meant to elicit MASHS Junior High School pupils’ experiences,
interests, priorities, expectations and images that are of relevance for learning of science.

Statement of the Problem:

: What do students in MASHS want to learn about in science?
: What views do these students hold about environmental challenge?
: How do these students relate to school science?
: How do these students look at various aspects of the role of science and technology in society?
: What kinds of science-oriented experiences do these students have from their lives outside
schools?

Null Hypothesis: In the aim to determine the Relevance of Science Education As Perceived by
Junior High School Students of MASHS, the null hypotheses are to be tested.

1. There are no significant difference of these students look at various aspects of the role of
science and technology in society.
2. There are no significant difference between the kinds of science-oriented experiences that does
these students have from their lives outside schools and their experience during class
discussions.

Instrument/tool : Likert Scales

: ROSE questionnaire/surveys

Research Design: The data collection strategy for this study was a standard survey methodology
within the quantitative research tradition. The study was a fixed nonexperimental descriptive
survey that went beyond the descriptive to the interpretive in order to provide explanations of
patterns and relationships of the results obtained. Justification for the fixed non-experimental
descriptive survey is that, unlike an experimental research, the variables were not manipulated
(Cooper and Schindler, 2001, McMillan and Schumacher, 1997).
