Simple blues soloing

 You can play minor pentatonic over the 12 bars, but with the V chord, there is a problem –
the root of the minor pentatonic clashes with the half-step lower 3rd note of the chord. So,
to play over the V chord, FLATTEN the root of the minor pentatonic you are using.
 You can also “chase the chords” – this means hitting the roots of the underlying chords
when the chords change
 Remember, one full step below a note means it’s the SEVENTH of the chord with that root –
and blues uses 7th chords! So use root-and full step lower combination a lot
 Put an underlying F chord shape over your 1st position minor pentatonic – this is the outline
of chord I, then flatten the ring finger over strings DGB and you have IV chord, and slide it up
a whole step and you have V chord.
