FAMILY COPING STRATEGY IN CREATING CLIENT CHRONIC RENAL

FAILURE IN HEMODIALISA ROOM GENERAL HOSPITAL REGIONS

Abstrack

Chronic renal failure or end stage renal disease (ESRD) is a progressive

and irreversible renal function disorder in which the body's ability fails to maintain
metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance. Patients with chronic renal failure
are increasing every year based on medical record data of RSUD Kabupaten
Ciamis (2017), showing that the data of chronic kidney failure patients in 2014 is
3,851 people, in 2015 5,789 people, in 2016 8,580. Underwent hemodialysis for
chronic renal failure patients will cause stress in family life and one sick family
member will have an impact on other family members both from the physical,
psychological, economic and social side. Therefore, the family must have a
coping strategy to solve the problem in order to Negative behaviors for families
can be avoided, coping strategies such as relationship strategies, cognitive
strategies, communication strategies, social support strategies and spiritual
support.
The purpose of this study to know To know family coping strategies in
treating chronic renal failure clients in Hemodialisa Regional General Hospital
District Ciamis Year 2017. The method in this study is descriptive. The population
in this study is a family of patients with chronic renal failure who perform
hemodialysis therapy in Hemodialisa Room RSUD Kabupaten Ciamis. Sampling
technique using purposive sampling is taking a sample that happened to come to
Hemodialisa Room RSUD Ciamis District for 3 days got 52 respondents in
accordance with the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria in the specified
researchers.
The result of the research shows that family ability in family coping strategy
in caring for chronic renal failure client is found in effective relationship category
strategy as many as 34 respondents (65.4%), effective category cognitive
strategy as many as 34 respondents (65.4%), effective category communication
strategy as much as 28 respondents 53.8%), effective category social support
strategy of 34 respondents (65.4%), effective category spiritual strategy as many
as 35 respondents (67.3%). The conclusion of this research is family coping
strategy in caring client of chronic renal failure has effective that effective
category counted 34 respondents (65.4%).
