What a beautiful time - summer! The sun, heat, flowers and lots of other pleasures! And for
many - also the unspeakable joy of hiking for mushrooms. True, admiring handsome men does
not last long. Drying, pickling, marinating ... And now, fungus-fast-growing has already turned
into a delicious product, but beauty, alas, disappeared.
I propose to save a piece of this beauty and create by your own hands a small piece of summer:
to connect a simple but cute bed with mushrooms.
In the winter overcast days, it will remind you (or someone you give it to) about the sun, the
forest, the smell of forest litter and mushrooms. In addition, it is a very useful thing on the table
of each needlewoman.
I prepared this master class mainly for beginners knitters. Therefore, I tried to explain in detail
how to knit and collect details of the needle bed. However, it is assumed that you already know
the basic methods of crocheting.
To make a bed, you need to be able to: knit a column without a crochet, a connecting post
(half-column), do increments, reduce and knit in a spiral. It is also desirable to be able to knit
an amigurumi ring - we wind the yarn (two turns) on the finger, we tie the resulting ring with
bunches without a crochet. Tighten by pulling the free end of the thread. We close the row by
tying a column without a crochet into the first loop of the row.
If any of the above is unfamiliar to you, then I recommend that you watch the training master
classes, which are very numerous on the Internet.
Materials:
 Tin, screwed cover for canning (bed base);
 Yarn of green color;
 Yarn of white and brick-orange flowers (or other suitable shade) for mushrooms;
 Sewing thread of black color;
 Thin yarn for embroidery of grass and flowers (the best cotton is "Iris", "chamomile",
"coco", "rose", etc.);
 Beads (for the middle of the flowers);
 filler;
 A tissue flap. It is better to take a medium-density fabric, green or neutral colors (I used
flax);
 Monofilament or thin thread in the tone of the yarn;
 PVA glue;
 Glue is universal (I used the Moment "Crystal").
Instruments:
 Crochet hooks;
 Sewing needle;
 scissors;
 Brush for glue.
Terms and abbreviations in the text:
An increase - two bars in one loop;
Reduction - two loops we sew together;
Sbn - a column without a crochet.
All details of the needle bed are knitted in a spiral (without lifting loops).

Stages
The base of the needle bed
For the bed of the bed, I took a screw cap for canning, 9 cm in diameter (standard). If you like
very miniature things, then choose a smaller cap. The lid is recommended to take a new one, as
used in the past can preserve the smell of canned food for a long time.
For knitting mounds, which will grow mushrooms, I used Alize ecolana yarn (100% wool, 220
m / 100 g) of dark green color. In fact, you can take yarn of almost any composition and
thickness. Just the number of connected rows will be more or less. The best yarn is medium-
thick yarn.
1. Bars without a crochet we knit a flat circle with a diameter equal to the diameter of our lid
(in my case 9 cm).
It is assumed that you already know how to knit a flat circle in a spiral. But, just in case, I result
the scheme (the scheme from the Internet). Note that the increments in each row (6 increments
each), knit with a shift relative to the increases in the previous row. This is done so that we
really get a circle, not a hexagon.
2. When the circle is connected , tie a few more rows without adding more , forming the
"sides". The height of the rails should be equal to or slightly larger than the height of the sides
of the lid itself. In the process of knitting, try knitting on the lid. If desired, you can tie another
row of connecting posts.
We have a cup that repeats the shape and size of the lid.

Choose the side that we will have the surface of the hummock. I liked the invoice of the wrong
side of knitting, I did it "facial".
3. We decorate the hummock . We embroider twigs (with a tambour seam, with the help of a
needle or a hook) and flowers (simple stitches from the center). In the middle of flowers we sew
beads. How to perform a tambour stitch, a lot of information on the Internet.
4. We design the bottom of the needle bed . For the bottom it is better to choose a single-
tonnoe fabric of medium density. I took a piece of flax.
Cut a circle of cloth the size of the lid diameter + double the height of the lid of the lid. I got a
circle krivenky, but it's not scary.
Lubricate the bottom of the lid with glue along the perimeter. We spread the glue with a thin
layer (so that the fabric is not impregnated with glue and spots are formed) and glue the fabric to
the bottom.
Also glue the outer surface of the lid sides of the lid and glue the fabric. We try to distribute the
slabs evenly.
Lubricate the inner surface of the sides of the lid with glue and glue the fabric. All we dry
thoroughly.
We put the knitted blank on the lid.
5. Sew the upper part of the bed to the bottom . For sewing, I used monofilament, but you
can take thin threads in a yarn tone.
Sew the upper part of the needle bed, inserting the needle between the columns of the last row
and simultaneously grabbing several strands of fabric on the bottom (photo a ). We pull the
thread. Then we remove the needle between the next pair of columns (photo b ), pull the
thread. And again, insert the needle between the columns in the opposite direction, grabbing the
tissue. This results in a neat, inconspicuous seam (schematically shown in red).
Leaving a small hole open, fill the needle bed and sew it to the end.
For packing, I used holofayber. But, you can take another filler (sintepon, foam rubber, wool),
which you like best.
Here we have such a bump-base of the needle bed.

Podosinoviki
For the boletus, I used Alize Felicita yarn (45% wool, 45% acrylic, 45% polyamide, 370 m /
100 g).
You can take a yarn of a different thickness - the mushrooms will be smaller or bigger in size.
A large mushroom.
1. Hat
1st row: 6 sb in the ring amigurumi
2-6th series: 6 additions in each row = 36 sbn
7th row: 3 increases = 39 sbn
8th-9th series: 39 sc
We finish knitting by a connecting column, but the thread is not cut off.
2. Leg
The legs of the boletus are mottled, white and black. In order for us to get the same, we knit the
leg in two threads - to the white yarn we add ordinary, sewing thread, black.
1st row: 6 sb in the ring amigurumi
2-3 rd series: 6 increases = 18 sbn
4th row: 3 increases = 21 sbn
5-16th series: 21 sbn each
17-19th series: 1 reduction in each row = 18 sbn
20-22th series: 18 sbn each
Then we only knit white yarn.
23-25th series: 6 increases = 36 sbn
26th row: 3 increases = 39 sbn
We finish knitting by a connecting column. We cut the thread.
I chose the wrong side of knitting, as an outer mushroom cap. And the front of knitting looks
nicer.
We stuff the knife.

3. Put together the top of the cap and the leg. We enter the hook under the loop of the bottom of
the cap and grab the left loop. We pull it out.
4. We make a loop of lifting and we knit the edge with columns without a crochet, connecting
the upper and lower parts of the cap. Do not forget to leave the hole for stuffing.

5. Fill the hat and close the hole. We finish the series with a connecting post. We hide the tail in
the thickness of the canvas.
Small mushroom
1. Hat
1st row: 6 sb in the ring amigurumi
2-4th series: 6 increases = 24 sbn
5-8th series: 24 seats each
9th row: 2 decreases = 22 sbn
We finish knitting by a connecting column. Cut the thread.
2. Leg
1st row: 6 sb in the ring amigurumi
2-3 rd series: 6 increases = 18 sbn
4 th row: 2 increases = 20 sbn
5-10th series: 20 sbn each
3. Fill the leg and put a lump of filler into the cap. We put the hat on the foot (you can fix it with
pins). We sew the cap to the leg with monofilament or a thin thread in the tone of the yarn.

The bastards are ready!

Assembling the needle bed

Before you start sewing mushrooms, try to arrange them in different ways, see how nice it looks
and only then proceed to assembly.
1. We fix the stem of the fungus , so that it is located vertically on the bump.
2. We prick the mushroom to the bumps with pins and sew. The needle alternately pick up
a pair of thread legs and a pair of threads of a hummock. After each stitch, pull the thread
well. So we sew the foot in a circle. You can, for reliability, make another circle.
3. Similarly, sew the second fungus.
4. We make grass blades. For grass blades, I took a piece of thick yarn and divided it into
individual fibers. You can also take wool for felting.

5. Attach the yarn to the base.

For clarity, I separately photographed the way of attaching the yarn to the knitted fabric. We
also attach our yarn fibers.
I made three grass loafers (on each side and behind the mushrooms), three bundles of yarn in
each curtain.
6. Form the blade of grass. To do this, we moisten the yarn with water and use a needle to
divide into individual beams.
Wet each bundle with PVA glue and twist your fingers to make grass. Dry it.

Similarly we make grass from all sides. Note: on my left side, the blade of grass is thinner than
on the right, since on the left I twisted the bundles more strongly. When the blades completely
dry, you can cut the protruding hairs.
Here is such a needle bed we got!
"Paddling" of mushrooms in nature
But such a miniature needle bed, I live on my desktop. It is small, so I did not decorate it with
anything. It is connected from yarn to angora. Before sewing mushrooms, I combed the needle
bed with a usual plastic brush and got such a fluffy, mossy mound.

According to the same description, mushroom-pads can be associated. Only yarn for the hat to
take a different color. Those who like the "quiet hunt" know that the cap of the podberezovik
can be very different: almost white, black, gray and different shades of brown. So for sure you
will find a yarn of the right color.
You can also arrange the bed for your taste. For example, you can not embroider flowers, but
sew them, or make berries. And why not to paste a real mushroom hat with last year's
needles? Fantasize!
I think for the first part of the master class, that's enough. In The second part I'll tell you how to
tie other mushrooms. In the meantime, for inspiration: needle beds with borrows and russules.

Success and summer mood!
