3 year long weekend program for Under Graduate Students

Hari Om!
As you may be kindly aware that even the students with the best of the domain
knowledge in their field of study are unable to get proper placement after graduation, in
current day scenario. The topmost ,amongst the reasons for the above, is the lack of
‘Soft skills ‘ , which we call as ‘Life skills”.

We, at Chinmaya Academy for Civil services, are making a break this year by
launching a 3 year long weekend program for Under Graduate Students, with the Twin
objectives of
a) Imparting soft skills and knowledge required for making the student to face
interviews successfully and also
b) making the student learn the needed inputs to write the highly competitive
Civil services exams for getting into IAS,IFS,IPS,Irs etc.

In this 3 year package the inputs that the student will get are essentialy in the
following areas:
1. Communication-
a. written - for writing good Essays
b. verbal – for participating in discussions and for facing Interviews
2. Aptitude – CSAT training will equip the student to succeed in aptitude tests
conducted by several employers , educational institutes for admission to higher
degrees etc
3. General Knowledge / Current Affairs- Lack of interest / awareness of happenings
around us in our Society, our Country & World is an impediment in
understandng the purpose / goals of the Organisations and also how the path to
achiving these goals will be impacted by the evreyday happenings around us.
Organisations expect the employees to be sufiiently knowledgeable of current
affairs so that they can conceive new ideas / plans for growth in tune with the
same.
4. Ethics & Integrity- Most prospective Employers look for basic understanding and
practicing of these concepts.
5. Restudying of subjects at Plus 2 level for writing Civil services- will help the
students to understand their current studies in Colleges also.
6. Life Skills Module, USP of Chinmaya academy- deals with management of Stress,
Anger, Depression, conflicts in relationships etc and about emotional Intelligence
etc. This module briefly provides for experiential learning which encourages
working together as a Team to succeed, which all Organisations look for.

With the above inputs an Undergraduate Student is expcted to have sound Soft Skills, in
addition to what he/ she is learning in the Colleges for the Degree program and will be
well equipped to fare in interviews for employment or for admission to higher degrees.
Additionally, they will also be more or less ready to write the prestigious Civil services
exams once they have a recognised degree and attain the age of 21.
