Dear Recruiter,

Today the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, stands atop a
solid foundation—an internationally recognized faculty, a dedicated alumni network and students
who rank among the top MBA candidates nationwide.

The UC Davis MBA program remains one of the country's most selective. About 26 percent of
th
applicants to the Daytime MBA program are accepted, the 13 lowest acceptance rate in the
nation. UC Davis MBA students enter with an average GMAT score ranked among the top 25
business schools and an average of five years of work experience.

Leadership Skills Program

In direct response to national corporate recruiters’ feedback that MBA programs need to further
develop professional skills in students, the UC Davis Graduate School of Management created a
Leadership Skills Program. Now in its second year, the program features a series of extracurricular
interactive workshops designed to deepen and strengthen each student’s professional skill set.
Workshops are taught throughout the academic year by experts in the areas of leadership,
executive coaching and human resources.

The program is designed to complement the Graduate School of Management’s rigorous

coursework, and to better prepare students to be more effective in the workplace. Drawing on
experts from industry and delivered in a highly interactive format, each workshop focuses on a
specific skill for leadership development.

Lam Research Corporation has provided a gift to support the Leadership Skills Program including
resources to pilot an online assessment tool for incoming students to effectively measure their
leadership competencies. With this information, students can better determine which workshops
would be most beneficial and relevant to their individual needs.

I invite you to take a closer look at the UC Davis MBA program and consider our students and
alumni for your hiring needs. We welcome your interest, thank you for your continued support and
appreciate your ongoing relationship as we celebrate another very exciting year.

Best regards,

Kathy Klenzendorf

2008 UC DAVIS MBA INTERNSHIP REPORT
CLASS OF 2009

Each year the UC Davis MBA Career Services Center works aggressively to place students in rewarding summer
internships. Our students work in a variety of managerial positions and apply the skills they have learned in the first-year
core curriculum. Through these valuable internships, students make significant contributions to the company and make key
connections in their chosen industry. These internships often lead to job offers upon graduation.

VALUE OF THE UC DAVIS MBA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

A partnership with the UC Davis MBA Internship Program can benefit your company in two key ways:

1) UC Davis MBA interns have an average of five years of professional experience, and the aptitude, maturity and academic
preparation to immediately make productive contributions to your projects, research needs or primary business functions. Our
interns are team-oriented and independent professionals who think creatively and strategically and have well-developed technical
skills. With their leading-edge education, these individuals can bring a fresh approach to your business challenges and regularly
prove to be high achievers who are motivated to contribute their best.

2) The UC Davis MBA Internship Program provides your organization with an effective, low-risk evaluation and training opportunity
for prospective full-time employees. Your company’s investment is generally 2-3 months during the summer. During this period, you
can evaluate the intern’s technical ability, written and verbal communication skills, work habits, how well the intern fits into your
company’s business culture, and most importantly, how much added value your organization gains. At the completion of the
program, you have a unique opportunity to hire a full-time employee who is already acclimated to your organization. Some
students are also able to continue working part-time 10-20 hours a week during the school year.
