KOVIR-PROVIS KINGDOM

GENERAL INFORMATION
Kovir-Provis is a recently formed kingdom that was a result of the amalgamation of Kovir, a rich and
fertile kingdom, and the smaller militaristic Provis. This union saw a great shift in political power
between the two nations, and their surrounding neighbours as the majority of the Provissian nobles
being lesser lords in the now primarily Koviran driven government.

Kovir-Provis is still in a certain state of turmoil having been plagued by the recent civil war regarding
the merger of Kovir and Provis has left some parts of the kingdom (the Provissian lands) in a state of
unrest and strife. The civil war began when the King of Provis at the time Lord Uthan and his heir
Falrun were killed in a hunting accident along the Daeron border, heirship was to then fall to his
daughter Feril who was married two years prior to the crown prince of Kovir Edmun as part of a
trade treaty brokered between the two nations. As Feril claimed the crown she was met by hostile
opposition from her uncle Hruss, and her cousin Harug laid claim to the crown also vowing to die
before seeing the merger of Kovir and Provis. This sparked a civil war with the 56 lesser noble houses
of Provis divided in warfare for their chosen heir. Feril won her crown and the right to rule two years
later at the fall of Aerd Utgard, backed by the might of the Koviran armies and the forces of the
border nobles who all had much to gain from the merger, however even after the death of her
usurpers the land was still plague with lesser dissenting nobles clinging to the dream of a free Provis.

ECONOMY
Driven primarily by the Koviran trade agreements and enforced by the more militaristic Provissian
militia the general wealth of the Koviran nobleman and those Provissian more closely aligned with
the Koviran continues to grow. However the merge of these two kingdoms have left the more rural
lords of Provissian extremely weakened in voice and in purse when compared to the Koviran houses.

MAGIC and SCIENCE

Like most of the kingdoms that accept the use and practice of the arcane arts Kovir-Proviss
maintains guildhouses for the two major magical collectives in the Highland Kingdoms, The Arcane
Brotherhood and The Magus Lodge. Wizards and to a lesser extent are kept in court for advice and
guidance in the arcane ways, however being Cronetouched (an arcane spellcaster) in Kovir-Proviss,
like in all the Highland Kingdoms, bar you from the right to hold lands or to be recognized as a
nobleman or heir. The guildhalls in Pont Voris are now mostly neglected keeping only a handful
lesser wizards of insignificant power or value and one Stormseer who oversees the coastal city,
whereas the guild halls in Lan Eider remain ever busy with many distinguished casters travelling
though this hub of trade in Kovir-Provis.
