FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How many practicum hours am I required to accomplish?

 150 hours

2. What happens when I don’t complete 150 hours by the end of intersession?

 You will receive a grade of INC for intersession. You final grade will be submitted
when you fulfill the 150 hours but it should be no later than two weeks of the first
semester.

3. How do I choose my practicum site?

 You suggest possible sites, but the final choice is approved by your adviser.
 Inform your adviser of your choice of practicum site and give details (i.e., name of
person in charge of internships/practicum, address of company) for the official
endorsement letter to be signed by your practicum adviser.
 Any site/work is acceptable as long as you are able to apply what you’ve learned in
your psychology classes
 Objective supervision is a requirement. Do not choose a site where your family
members or friends are the owners/supervisors

3. Can I have more than one site?

 It is ideal to have only one site. However, two sites may also be allowed on a case-
to-case basis

4. Can I do my practicum outside of Metro Manila ?

 Provincial sites may be considered, as long as you can attend the weekly class
meetings.

5. When should I make my final decision regarding my site?

 Before the start of intersession classes (June 2018)

6. When can I start?

 The ideal date to begin is June 1, 2018. If you begin earlier than this date, this will
not be counted towards your 150 work hours.

7. Is regular class attendance required?

YES. You are allowed a maximum of only one cut to pass the course.
