● There are 73 areas of study toward a bachelorette degree, 22 master’s
programs, and a Ph.D. in Marine Science offered at CCU

Chants Academic Accomplishments
● 230 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 or higher GPA in 2016-2017
● 131 student-athletes achieved a 3.5 or higher GPA in 2016-2017
● 108 student-athletes made the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List
(second most in conference)
● 79 student-athletes graduated in 2016-2017 (35 in December, 45 in May)
● 27 student-athletes graduated with honors (9 in December, 18 in May)
What are Division I
NCAA Requirements?
Eligibility - Full Qualifier
● Must complete 16 core courses (see figure below)
○ GPA of at least 2.3
● Earn the minimum ACT/SAT score to match core GPA
● Graduate high school
● Must register with Eligibility Center (eligibilitycenter.org)
Eligibility - Academic Redshirt
● Complete all aspects of a full qualifier, but with at least a 2.0 GPA

● CANNOT compete during 1st year

● May receive athletics scholarship and may practice during 1st year
○ Must complete 9 credits in Fall and Spring semesters to remain eligible
for following academic term
Eligibility - Non-Qualifier
● Does not meet GPA, core courses completion, or ACT/SAT requirements to
be either a qualifier or an academic redshirt

● Not eligible for athletic aid, practice, or competition for 1st academic year

● Can only play 3 seasons in the sport if maintained eligibility from year to
year
○ To earn a 4th season:
■ 80% of degree requirements must be met before beginning of 5th
year
Eligibility - Transfer Qualifier (2-4)
At your two year school did you:
1. Complete at least one semester or quarter as a full-time student? (Not
including summer school)
2. Completed an average of 12 transferable credit hours in each term you
attended full time?
3. Earn a GPA of 2.50 in those transferable credits?

● If YES to all three questions:


○ You can practice, get an athletic scholarships and compete as soon as you transfer
● If NO to any of the three questions:
○ You can practice and get an athletic scholarship
○ You cannot compete until you sit out for an academic year in residence
Eligibility - Transfer Non Qualifier (2-4)
