Your Role
You will be responsible for controlling with a critical eye of the Red Cross' programme portfolio
in one of our international regions. It involves assistance and quality assurance of budgeting,
financial reporting, preparation of financial statements for audit and ongoing review and
revision of financial procedures. You are in daily contact with skilled financial colleagues around
the world as well as working in close cooperation with colleagues in the international branches
in Denmark. It is expected that you will travel up to three or four times a year to undertake
supervision reviews, finance training and/or to attend regional meetings.

Your Profile
Your high professionalism and experience is crucial. We expect you to have;

• Relevant educational background, for example. MSc, accountant, HD

• In depth experience using a large ERP system (like Axapta09)

• Extensive experience with budgeting and financial reporting, including quality assurance,
variance analysis and control.

• Experience in preparation of financial statements, including the collection of relevant


accounting records and preparation for audit.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to deal sensitively in a multicultural environment and


build effective working relationships with donors and colleagues across the Red Cross
organization.

• Ability to communicate in English - both orally and in writing

It is an advantage if you are familiar with financial management of international projects, and
the requirements and guidelines that donors make. If not, then an ability and desire to
familiarise yourself with new material is a must. In addition international experience in a
multicultural environment is an advantage.

Your future workplace


You will be joining an existing team of five international controllers. We work with common
goals and sharing of knowledge, but also expect you to be able to work independently in order
to meet specific deadlines. You will be responsible for one or more cross-cutting initiatives in
our controlling team. We expect you to actively participate in knowledge sharing and learning
with all colleagues.

You become part of the finance department at the Red Cross' head office. We are 20 dedicated
colleagues who together focus on creating the right economic framework for the Red Cross'
work in Denmark and throughout the world.

The salary including all allowances and pension will be between DKK 39.800 and DKK 41.800
depending on qualifications and experience according to the Danish Red Cross agreement with
HK and AC.
