The English Department of Colegio Santa Cruz Victoria, announces the first non-
competing Singing Festival that will take place on August 17th, 2018, from 09.00 to
13.10 approximately. This activity is based on the following principles:
1. OBJECTIVE
The objective of the 1st Colegio Santa Cruz Singing Festival is to promote the
development and stimulate music as a mean of effective learning of English
language. In turn, it seeks to be a platform of exhibition and recognition for every
participant, composer, interpreter and band that has an outstanding work in the
musical area. Hereby, the 1st Colegio Santa Cruz Singing Festival 2018 is a non-
competing music activity that stimulates the artistic and cultural development,
promoting good relations between different schools.
2. INVITATION
The English Department invites every student, teacher and school that belongs to
any Santa Cruz School in Chile.
3. PARTICIPATING SONGS
Because of time, only one song is allowed to be performed per school, either soloist
or band. That song is the one that will represent each school in this activity.
The registration of all songs taking part in the Singing Festival must have the
following requirements:
4. INSCRIPTION
The bands, authors, composers and interpreters that want to participate in the 1 st
Colegio Santa Cruz Singing Festival 2018 must register their songs following the
requirements bellow:
4.1 The register form required to take part of this competition must be sent
attached with all the background required by e-mail to the following addresses:
a) joaquin.otarola@gmail.com – juaco_1984@hotmail.com
4.2 The deadline to receive the register form of songs will be: July 4 th, 2018 at 23:59
hrs. All documents must be received prior the deadline.
Applicants who do not comply all the above requirements will be banned of the
apply process.
5. SOLOISTS/BANDS
For the purposes of this activity, soloists and members of the band must comply
with the requirements listed below:
5.3 The members of the band (maximum 5 members) must be identified in the
"Registration form" and they will be the only ones authorized to go on stage.
6. PERFORMANCES
The performances of the songs in the activity shall be subject to the following rules:
6.1 Each school must perform just one song (band or soloist).
6.4 The order of the performance of the songs at 1 st Singing Festival will be
determined by Colegio Santa Cruz Victoria, according to the artistic and technical
regulations.
7. ORGANIZATION
The participants of the activity will receive from Colegio Santa Cruz Victoria, the
following:
Snack and drink for the singer(s), members of the band and teachers.
10.00 Opening.
By participating at the 1st Singing Festival, the interpreters will accept the present
regulations and the decision taken by the organizers of the activity as mentioned in
this regulation, resigning openly from any possible action that opposes this,
accepting the activity’s characteristics, its structure and its organization.
All decisions taken by the 1 st Singing Festival’s production, by people related to the
organization and development of the event and the decisions taken by the people
jury mentioned in this regulation are irrefutable and not susceptible to any
complaint against the organization. Any doubt related to the application or
interpretation of these regulations will be resolved by the organizers.
10. OTHERS
Songs and documents received will not be returned, as well as photos, CD and
other documents attached to the registration form.
The 1st Singing Festival’s production and committee will be the only entity
responsible for assuring a strict fulfillment of the actual criteria.
11. DEFINITIONS
Author: Person who has written the original lyrics of the song.
Applicant: Person who has sent the registration form and fully accepted the
conditions.
Composer: Person who has composed the original music of the song
Interpreter(s): Person who sings the participating song (vocalist) and the band.
