Task 1

Look at the two photos.

Talk about the pictures. Say what kind of situation is depicted in
the picture. Try to determine the relationship among these people
and give your opinion on it.

which not? Which do you hate? Why?
Task 2

Describe the British and Slovak society in terms of a class system.


Choose one of the groups and describe the lifestyle of that group. (housing, job, food, hobbies, holiday,
education, etc.)
Comment on how you imagine an ideal society (behaviour, money etc.).

Task 2:

Name some rules of politeness which you have taught in your family.
Give examples of some rights and duties people have in society.
Talk about some social conversations in Slovakia (greeting, addressing people, kissing people,
shaking hands, suitable conversational topics)
What kind of behaviour do we call antisocial? Give examples.
Why people commit crimes? Name some of them.

Task 2:

Discuss the rules of politeness which you have been taught in your family. What manners do you
appreciate most in your family? Which manners would you like to teach your children?
Name some of the rules of politeness when you travel on the bus or while you are watching a play at the
theatre. What would you do if somebody taller blocked your view? What would you do if your cell phone
rang during a performance?

Why are more young people getting involved in crime nowadays?
How do drugs and alcohol contribute to increasing crime?
What can be done to stop crime from increasing?
Are prison sentences an effective punishment for criminals? Why? Talk about different types of
punishments.
Discuss the following issues:
Homosexual couples should be allowed to adopt children.
Homosexuals should have equal opportunities to get a good job.
All people should have equal rights and duties.
