Draft A (2012-12-30)
This is a draft.
APM30H (Ver.A) series cabinets consist of the APM30H, TMC11H, IBBS200T, and RFC. This
chapter describes the components replaced during the upgrade from APM30H (Ver.A) to
APM30H (Ver.D_A2), TMC11H (Ver.A) to TMC11H (Ver.D_A2), or IBBS200T (Ver.A) to

BTS3900A (Ver.D_A2) (shortened to BTS3900A in this document) and DBS3900 (Ver.D_A2)
(shortened to DBS3900 in this document).
2.1 BTS3900A&DBS3900 Cabinets Interior
To meet requirements in different outdoor environments, Huawei provides various cabinets for
the separated macro base station such as BTS3900A (Ver.D_A2) and distributed base station
such as DBS3900 (Ver.D_A2). The cabinets include the APM30H, TMC11H, RFC, and
IBBS200T, which provide different functions. The RFC is used only for the BTS3900A.
2.2 APM30H Components to Be Replaced During the Upgrade
During the APM30H hardware upgrade, the following components need to be replaced: the door
of the cabinet, fan assembly, and AC/DC power system.
2.3 TMC11H Components to Be Replaced During the Upgrade
During the TMC11H hardware upgrade, the following components need to be replaced: the door
of the cabinet, fan assembly, and AC/DC power system.
2.4 RFC Components to Be Replaced During the Upgrade
During the RFC hardware upgrade, the following components need to be replaced: the
DCDU-13A, CMUEA, and fan assembly.
2.5 IBBS200T Components to Be Replaced During the Upgrade

Blinking (on for 1s and An alarm is generated, and the alarm may be
off for 1s) caused by an associated board or port fault.
Therefore, you need to locate the fault before
determining whether to replace the board.
DIP Switch
On the CMUEA, there is a DIP switch J18, which is used to set the working mode of the CMUEA
according to the cabinet type. Figure 2-40 shows the position of a DIP switch on the CMUEA.
In different types of cabinet, the DIP switch on the CMUEA is set in different ways, as shown
in Figure 2-41.

2.6.1 SLPU
The signal lightning protection unit (SLPU), which can be optionally configured with the UFLP,
UELP, or USLP2, provides the signal surge protection.
SLPU
The SLPU, which has a case structure, is 19 inches wide and 1 U high.
Figure 2-46 shows the SLPU.
When there are not more than 16 dry contacts in the SLPU, the SLPU is used as a monitoring
signal protection unit, which is an optional component. In this case, the SLPU is integrated with
two USLP2s and installed in the 1 U (44.45 mm or 1.75 in.) space at the bottom of the BBU.
Table 2-30 lists the slot assignment rules for the SLPU.
UELP
Each universal E1/T1 lightning protection unit (UELP) provides surge protection for four paths
of E1/T1 signals.
Panel
Figure 2-48 shows the panel of the UELP.
Ports
Table 2-31 lists the ports on the UELP.
DIP Switch
The UELP has one DIP switch, which is used to determine whether the receiving end is grounded.
The DIP switch has four DIP bits. Figure 2-49 shows the DIP switch on the UELP.
NOTE
The E1 cable of 75 ohms can be either grounded or not, whereas the E1 cable of 120 ohms and the T1 cable
of 100 ohms cannot be grounded.
UFLP
Each universal FE lightning protection unit (UFLP) provides protection for two channels of FE
signals. Each universal FE lightning protection unit type B (UFLPB) provides protection for two
channels of FE/GE signals.
NOTE
The UFLPB applies only to the LTE mode.

USLP2
The Universal Signal Lightning Protection Unit Type 2 (USLP2) is a dry contact surge protection
unit. It is optional and can be installed in the SLPU.

Monitoring Signal Cable for the Door Status Sensor in the APM30
A monitoring signal cable for the door status sensor in the APM30 transmits the alarm signals
from the door status sensor to the PMU, and the PMU reports the alarms to the BBU.
The following figure shows the exterior of a monitoring signal cable for the door status sensor
in the APM30.
Figure 3-95 Monitoring signal cable for the door status sensor in the APM30
The description of a monitoring signal cable for the door status sensor in the APM30 is as follows:
l Cable 1 has a 2-pin straight socket at one end, which is connected to the GATE port on the
PMU. Cable 1 has a bare wire and a cord end terminal at the other end, which are connected
to a door status sensor and a cable terminal block, respectively.
l Cable 2 has a bare wire at one end, which is connected to a door status sensor. Cable 2 has
a cord end terminal at the other end, which is connected to a cable terminal block.
Monitoring Signal Cable for the Temperature Sensor for Storage Batteries
