Richard G. Cramsey, 65, was born


in Quincy, Illinois and raised on his
family's grain and livestock farm near
Liberty, Illinois. While attending Liberty
High School was involved in several
activities but specifically the school band
and the Future Farmers of America while
continuing to work with his parents on
the family farm.

Upon graduation from Liberty High School, Rich received the County Agriculture
Scholarship to the University of Illinois – Champaign/Urbana. While at the University he
was active with Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, Agricultural Council, Ag Mechanical Club
and Ag Education Club by holding numerous leadership positions and recipient of various
awards for his dedication and leadership. Rich graduated with honors with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Agriculture Education

Rich started his business career with Ralston Purina Company as a Sales Trainee
covering nine counties in eastern Illinois and was one of the quickest to be promoted to
Territory Manager. He left Ralston Purina to return to the family farming operation by
working for his parents and renting his first farm and selling agriculture seed products to
fellow farmers. That led him to being retained by M. D. King Milling Company and
eventually Webel Feed Mill both located in Pittsfield, Illinois as a Territory Representative
developing some the company’s largest clients and receiving many sales awards.

In April of 1985, Rich was retained by G. D. Searle Pharmaceuticals of Skokie,


Illinois as a Medical Sales Representative promoting prescription medications to doctors,
pharmacists, and hospitals in parts of Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. Rich participated in
many training programs to improve his business acumen and medical knowledge.
In November of 1988 Rich went to work for GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd
for over 26 years in many roles. During his career he covered medical schools, residency
programs, teaching hospitals, doctors and pharmacists launching and promoting a variety
of prescription medical products. During his tenure he was given the opportunity to
participate in the "Direct Connect" Program in State Government Affairs to enhance his
understanding of how State Government functions in Springfield, Illinois. He was also
appointed to GSK’s Political Action Committee Board to further his understanding of State
Government. While at GSK, Rich was appointed to the National Sales Convention Team to
gain further business insight and knowledge on a national level. He was also called upon
to train new employees on a national level because of his business comprehension and
thorough product knowledge.

Rich's last position with GSK was as an Account Representative where he covered
specific accounts in Springfield and Champaign, Illinois and in the greater St. Louis,
Missouri area. During Rich's tenure at GSK he won many awards and was promoted on a
regional and national level. His skills of Budget Management, Strategic Planning, Effective
Negotiation, Problem Solving, Employee Training and Successful Leadership were
developed and honed during his tenure at GSK and will serve him well as the State
Representative for the 94th District of Illinois.

Rich has two sons, Brian and Adam, both graduates of the University of Illinois, one
in Engineering and one in Finance. They are both happily married and together they have
four children.

Mr. Cramsey is a lifelong member of St Brigid's Catholic Church in Liberty,


Illinois. He has served on the Parish Council as both a member and as Chairman. He has
also has been involved with the Quincy Deanery Pastoral Council as a member, Secretary
and Council Chairman for many years.

Rich is and has been a consistent Adams County Farm Bureau member since 1974
and is a past Board Member. He is a past Liberty, Illinois Lions Club member for ten years
serving on many committees and is a past Board Member.

Rich is well grounded educationally and experience wise in Agriculture, both from
production farming and a farm manufacturing background. He has had some of the best
post collegiate true business training opportunities and hands on business experiences and
opportunities from one of the world's largest pharmaceutical firms over a period of 26
years that one could ever expect to receive.

Rich is home grown and is one of the best that Western Illinois can offer to
represent the citizens of the 94th District in Springfield, Illinois.
