Course Objective:
This course would develop a sound understanding of Digital Signal Processing, its theoretical background as well as
its applications and implementation design. Based on the fundamentals of “Signals and Systems” this course would
elaborate the time domain as well as frequency domain characteristics of discrete time signals and systems. Various
important systems (IIR, FIR filters) and efficient algorithms (FFT, DCT etc) would be introduced to students.
Applications of DSP Processing would also be emphasized in this course. Introduction to DSP architectures would
enable students understand the practical aspects.
Textbooks:
1. Discrete-Time Signal Processing – Second Edition By Alan V. Oppenheim, Ronald W. Schafer with John R.
