2. If necessary, replace:

PAIR 1. A FLAG on the CAM SHAFT actuates an optical SENSOR to allow
the system to determine the rotation of the CAM. This error occurs if the
optical SENSOR does not detect the FLAG within the correct time. This error
is only reported to the Error Log.
Cause 1: The BELT:
• is broken
• fell off the PULLEY
Action: 1. Check the BELT for ROLLER PAIR 1.
2. If necessary:
a. install a new BELT
b. install the BELT to the PULLEYS
3. Check:
a. alignment of the PULLEYS

Description: The ERASE SCREEN SENSOR S8 did not actuate at the correct time. When
moving in the scan direction, the “trailing” edge of the SCREEN did not clear
the ERASE SCREEN SENSOR S8. The SCREEN remains in the ERASE AY.
Cause 1: The ERASE LAMPS did not fully illuminate.
Action: 1. Check the connections for:
• ERASE LAMPS
• BALLAST WIRES

“leading” edge did not actuate the START OF SCAN SENSOR. This error is
displayed on the SCREEN.
Cause 1: A jam occurred in the ERASE AY.
Action: Check the operation of the RP3 ROLLERS.
Cause 2: An intermittent error can be caused by:
• FLAG not actuating the optical SENSOR RP1 or RP2
• SCREWS for optical SENSOR are over-tightened
Action: Install a new RP2 or RP2 SENSOR. Do not over-tighten the SCREWS.
12301 - Slow Scan frequency locked range error while not scanning
Important
• The error indicates that a problem might occur in the future.
• The image was scanned before the error occurred.

Description: The speed of the SLOW SCAN AY is out of specification when doing a scan
on the SCREEN. This error is displayed on the SCREEN.
Cause 1: The SCREEN had a jam:
• after the scan is complete
• when returning the SCREEN to the CASSETTE
Action: 1. Check the Error Logs to see if the error only occurred on one CASSETTE.
2. If only one CASSETTE caused the error, check the CASSETTE.
Cause 2: The SCREEN had a jam when returning to the CASSETTE. The SCREEN might
be “skewed”.
Action: 1. Remove TOP COVER of:
• CR 500 SYSTEM
• CASSETTE
2. Observe the SCREEN when returning to the CASSETTE.
3. If necessary, install MODIFICATION 2.
Cause 3: The SCREEN had a jam when returning to the CASSETTE. The “trailing” edge of
the SCREEN might be closing the DOOR of the CASSETTE.

Cause 5: The SLOW SCAN MOTOR malfunctioned.
Action: Do the Slow Scan Current and Velocity Tests.

ERASE LAMPS
13009 - All ERASE LAMPS malfunctioned
Description: This error occurs when electrical current is not detected in the ERASE LAMP
BALLAST CIRCUIT.
Cause 1: The ERASE LAMP RELAY closes, but the LAMPS do not illuminate. One of the
LAMPS is malfunctioning.
Action: Check the pair of ERASE LAMPS. ERASE LAMPS must be installed in a pair.
Cause 2: The ERASE LAMP RELAY did not close.
Action: Check the signal to the ERASE LAMP RELAY.
Cause 3: The MECHANISM SYSTEM CONTROL BOARD A1 malfunctioned.
Action: Do the checkout for the MECHANISM SYSTEM CONTROL BOARD A1.

DG4366-1 Cause 4: The power to the ERASE LAMP AY malfunctioned.

2. Install the INTERLOCK KEY.
3. Check:
• CS1 is actuated - use Individual Component Control
• AC line voltage across the ERASE LAMP AY
4. If the AC line voltage is not indicated, check:
• FUSE F1 and F2 in the AC POWER MODULE
• 120 V AC across the AC side of RELAY K1
• condition of the CONNECTOR P3/J3 on the ERASE LAMP AY
• wires to the POWER SUPPLY PS1
5. If 120 V AC is indicated on RELAY K1, connect the MULTIMETER to the AC
side of the RELAY.
6. Energize and de-energize the ERASE LAMP AY. With the LAMPS energized,
you should measure < 2 V AC.
7. If the AC line voltage does not change to a Lo signal, check the DC side of
RELAY K1.
• Connect the MULTIMETER TL-4114 negative to the brown wire.
• Connect the MULTIMETER TL-4114 positive to the blue wire.
• Check for 24.0 ± 2.4 V DC on K1 with the ERASE LAMPS energized.
