darah jang satoe, tanah air Indonesia.
Kami poetra dan poetri Indonesia, mengakoe berbangsa

On October 28th, Indonesian people especially youth celebrated

“Hari Sumpah Pemuda". It was the promise that was written and
declared by Indonesian Youth; from every race, every culture, every
belief, and religion, every background in Indonesia.
We are Indonesia youth, we are strong and the future of our country.
From that day in 1928, youth in Indonesia are humans with a great
message not only for Indonesia but also for the world.
Indonesia people could preserve and transmit culture through the ages
and Prepare the youth to complete the march and build Indonesia in
whole aspects.

Parents play an important role in youth's lives as they set up basics in

youth lives like: Indonesia Pancasila, culture, History and tribes
traditions in Religions, dancing, Songs and food.
In the early stages of education, Parents and teachers encourage pupils
to know more about Indonesia culture, improve their Hobbies, follow the
good habits and read stories about Indonesia leaders and legends so
they can believe that the can do everything with ethics and hope in the
world.

According to UNFPA Indonesia, there was 62 million youth aged 15-29

in Indonesia, accounting for about 26 %of the Indonesian population.
Over time, the size of the youth population has been increasing and is
projected to reach 70 million in 2035.
This is a really big scale and is considered a future of Indonesia.
In the age of information, Government, Ministry of Education, NGOs
and companies offer all abilities and apply many fiscal and resources in
order to produce a highly qualified generation with a new knowledge.
This age, youth join student activities groups in Universities like TEDx for
learning team building and share Indonesia culture and traditions through
holding events in Indonesia and around the world, in addition, to make
new friends inside and outside Indonesia.
Indonesia youth welcome to tourists and students who come from all
world for summer camps “International youth Friendship camp in Bali
2018 “ and Scholarships “ Darmasiswa 2018“.

Indonesian youth have the opportunity to interact with foreign to show

them Indonesia culture, teaching them Indonesia language, recognize too
many other cultures and Exchange Ideas.
By inviting foreign to parties, Events, Traditional day Indonesia youth can
build a trust, friendship and enhance them to be part of Indonesia people
and participate in traditions. therefore, foreign will tell everyone about
what they see and learn Indonesia and how their youth were so loved
their country and trying to share every single tradition besides being unity.

On the internet and information age, Globalization is more effective than

before so Indonesia youth can communicate with the world outside.
They can write articles for describing Indonesia culture and provide
websites and apps for teaching the Indonesian language online. Youth
can create Events and invite foreign to watch them online or to come to
Indonesia and participate.
They are chatting on Facebook and WhatsApp with foreign, telling them
about Indonesia and Exchanging Knowledge.
Youth Exploit YouTube for creating Video channels and express about
some issues, sharing information, showing Indonesia culture and teaching
Indonesian language, dancing, making Indonesian food or how they are
active in their country with tribes diversity.
Indonesia youth also can apply their culture through joining to
international Volunteering programs like AYVP or UN for HIV and
helping Refugees, Internships in companies , international
Competitions specially folklore competition to apply Indonesian culture
phenomena to the world , summer programs “The NAD Youth
Leadership Camp “and Scholarships abroad and exchanging cultures
programs supported by many foundations like “ISCEF” .

In another hand, Pusat budaya Indonesia has many centers around the
world, especially in Cairo. In every pusat budaya Indonesia, youth can
build a strong” Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia ‘which makes it easy to
meet many people with different nationalities for culture Exchanging and
creating many Indonesian events about “Food, Dancing, history, stories,
art, songs, traditions, and competition ….".

Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia is an essential part of the representation of

Indonesia around the world with the help of the Indonesian Embassy and
the Ministry of Education. Indonesian students prove that they can
achieve goals and build networking with foreign in another country.
Indonesian Youth believe that education is the solution for continuing their
culture and developing the country. We realize that we are in the
information age which needs to be able to read, write and use ICT
systems.
Indonesia has a high overall youth literacy rate of 99 % and has made
tremendous progress in ensuring 99% of children aged between 7 and 12
years old are attending primary or junior secondary school. However, still
many children do not transition from primary to secondary school,
particularly children from poor families and rural areas.

Indonesian youth and the ministry of education with the help of NGOs and
organizations like “UNICEF, UNESCO, and Yayasan Tunas Aksara “.
They apply teachers and youth volunteers learn children how to hold a
storybook so children can see it, to read clearly and engagingly, and to
ask questions that encourage engagement and understanding. They
teach letters and skills such as how to hold a pencil.
Let me tell you about a great example:
Group of Indonesian youth set up an initiative called Healthy and
Beneficial Friendship in the Literacy World. They thought a good and
healthy friendship would be more fun if we could improve ourselves and
the people around us as well so they held the literacy event on 21st July
2017 at Putra Kami Inclusive School.

They tried to approach literacy as a fun thing to explore. Literacy consists

of reading, writing, and public speaking. They inspired students by
sharing stories so they are able to have this wonderful experience in
understanding the importance of good literacy and practice it in their daily
life.

"Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" (Unity in Diversity). Indonesia has more than

300 ethnic groups, and each of them has its own distinct culture and
forms of art. There are many traditional dances, songs and food types in
Indonesia.

Indonesia people are trying to preserve and transmit all that to the coming
Generation. They encourage them to use Angklung which is a musical
instrument made out of two bamboo
tubes attached to a bamboo frame.
Angklung is the Traditional
Indonesian Musical Instrument and
youth always try to create a
wonderful music and tones with it.

Indonesia Adults help youth to learn dancing like “Pendet Dance in

Bali, Saman Dance in Aceh, dance Batin kemuning ….”
7 Indonesia youth

Which represent culture and stories of tribes through a harmonized

dance. Youth participates and hold Dance Event or plays inside or outside
Indonesia for engagement more people around the world.
On August 13, 2017, More than 10,000 Adults and youth Indonesia took
a part in the traditional Saman dance. It was an incredible performance,
the dancers synchronized very well and it makes people proud as an
Indonesian.

Indonesian music predates historical records with various tribes

incorporating chants and songs using a variety of musical instruments into
their rituals. Youth preserve the traditional music and generate a new one.
8 Indonesia youth

The traditional music is the gamelan which is based and played mostly
on the use of an ensemble of percussion instruments that include gong-
chimes, metallophones, drums, bamboo or bronze flutes, and even spike
fiddles.

Because of Globalization and culture Exchange youth love pop, Rock

Music, Hip Hop, and Underground too.

Try to create new tones by combining with a new instrument like Guitar.
Youth also still like Dangdut and develop it to be modern.

Using Music and dancing by youth with the help of foundation like
“Yayasan Kelola “is a good way to connect to other cultures and
countries to say words with tones and dancing movements which couldn’t
be forgotten.
To say we are Indonesian we have an incredible and powerful culture
despite our diversity we are one soul.

Indonesia is going to be an economic superpower by 2030. This vision

needs youth empowerment and leadership. Now Indonesian youth know
more about sustainability and how we can be creative and innovators to
grow Economy and sharing principles of peace at the same time.

Diffidently, Young entrepreneurs drive social, ecological innovation Youth

can do a great impact in Asia and the Middle East by creating new
technology and write your own story.
For Example:
Khilda Baiti Rohmah, 28, the founder of Sampahkoe in Cimahi, West
Java, for instance, decided to become engaged in processing waste into
something of high economic value after seeing the economic hardship
experienced by garbage collectors in her neighborhood.
Under her leadership, 50 family
members of scavengers now
produce at least 25 types of
products from trash, such as
toothpaste tubes, cement sacks
and plastic cases for soap.

UNICEF in partnership with Nokia and the Health Ministry created

Info-Bidan (Information Midwives) project. They applied Nokialife
training workshop in Lombok. For the first time, the public and private
sector together with UNICEF partnered on a collaboration that utilized

the health sector

In order to appreciate and promote young innovators around the world,

who have dedicated themselves in making innovations, creations, and
creativity Indonesia government and foundations help their youth by
holding many training and inventors programs and competitions like
"(IYIA) 2018 " which will enhance new projects and provide investors for
the winners.

As a student at pusat kebadayaan Indonesia Cairo, I really impressed

about Indonesia people, especially youth. I like how much they looking
forward to sharing their culture and language with us. They always think
they have so many places to speak out and share every single incredible
dream in their mind. Indonesia believes their youth will lead the
technology revolution and achieving the Economics goals of 2030. Youth
Indonesia proves they are one unity despite their diversity, they people
love their country and culture and tell everyone how much they are proud
of their youth who will complete the march after them. I hope seeing youth
stronger than before. They are miracles from God.
