Last Thursday, the Ministry of
Information hosted a General
Secretary debate that was no
doubt filled with newfound
bitterness and roasts between
the candidates. The Repeater
published a public opinion poll
asking who won the debate, and
Lil’ Stapler won with a
comfortable margin of 12 with
8 votes cast for other

in his office after the results of
the poll were released on the
forums and on the regional
page.
The three options were full
separation of powers, partial
separation, and no separation.
The forum poll was 6-6-4 and
the regional poll was 18-35-7.
A handful of citizens
expressed in the forum thread
that they believed in
separation of powers yet
believed that the region is not
large enough nor active
enough to support a full
separation of powers in the
four established branches of
government (executive,
legislative judicial, and
administrative).
The former General Secretary
posted an analysis of the
results of both polls after the
conclusion of the GS runoff
election. He noted that turnout
for the forum was admittedly
low as was the case with most
forum polls. The voters were
divided between full
separation and partial
separation with a less sizeable
portion of those wishing to
have no separation.
The on-site poll, Kael noted,
signaled that the region’s
residents are more inclined to
vote for a compromise option
as a majority of 35 went to the
partial separation of powers
option.

Could We See a Revival of the
People’s Roleplay Council?

Former General Secretary and President of the
People’s Roleplay Council Tarrin Kael opened
elections for the Council yesterday evening, and
five candidates have already registered -- Lewis
Flood of Stiegae, Tarrin Kael of Shaiman, Pytor
Petrovsky of Ducktopia, Egaleca, and Nathaniel
Penrose of Ubertas.
Tarrin Kael is the only registered candidate to
have posted a campaign, while the user
Chairman Chërmin has posted a short message
but has not officially registered. Kael’s
campaign focuses on policy such as fixing the
Communism Interstellar Act and encouraging
the formation of co-operatives.
The People’s Roleplay Council has largely
been vacant for the past extended term, and with
a new and active batch of candidates that have
experience in the Nation RP of the Bloc, the
hopes are high that the PRC will once again
return to activity.

Judicial Elections Open, a Flurry
of Independent Candidates

Chief Justice M.M. has convened the July Judicial
Elections to select all 5 seats on the People’s
Tribunal, and a field of 8 candidates have already
registered. Kirk Socramander, M.M., Vlad Schpilkes,
Thomas Calloway, Tarrin Kael, Frits, Egaleca, and
Gabriel Xavier have all put their name on the ballot.
The amount of active and willing candidates has seen
a drastic trend forward, as the last election only
resulted in two judges elected that are relatively
active currently.
All candidates have released their platforms with
the exceptions of Thomas Calloway and Egaleca.
Deputy First Secretary of the Worker’s Party Frits
has received some concerns in his thread that his
immediate reaction to Trabardia’s campaign
telegram to the region was biased and not
appropriate for a possible future justice, but he has
stated that he would review all the arguments and
facts presented during a court case that is rather
different from a Discord conversation.
This election is the most contested judicial election
in the Bloc’s history, and we have yet to see if the
new justices will have work to do in office.

The Merger: Communist Revolutionaries Party

and People’s Party are Set to Form the PRP

Yesterday we reported about
the merge between the
Communist Revolutionaries
Party (CRP) and the People's
Party (PP) to the People's
Revolutionary Party (PRP). The
reason why is simple: both
parties have low membership
and together they hope to
become an important party again.
The reason many left the parties
(and all other parties) is more
complicated. Most believed that
the parties were creating
division, instead of
unition. Whether or not this is
true is debatable, see M.M.'s
recent article (see page B1) for
example. It is also debatable
whether or not merging will
create unition, as it might unite 2
parties and at the same time
divide further from the other
parties.
The merge was initiated by the
PP, and may show a sign of
desperation. The PP is not doing
that good lately, and also the
CRP remains small. But does
merging save the parties? Whilst
they do become bigger, the new
party will still have only a few
members. It is not likely that this
merge will revive the PP and
CRP, nor that it will fix the
current issues surrounding
parties. The CC is almost
entirely independent, and so the
PRP will need to recruit new
members. How they will do that
is unsure, and so is whether they
will manage to do so.

The People’s Roleplay Council -
from legislature to NationRP tie-in

From its inception, the People’s
Roleplay Council (PRC) was
new, and it was rough around the
edges. The Executive Order
which established it, penned by
yours truly, laid a very basic
groundwork of how the actual
Council would exist, however
the council itself was quick to
establish a self-governing
Constitution, and precedents
regarding how legislation was
debated and discussed.
Early on, the personalities of
the Bloc itself were the
participants of the Council, with
debates framed in such a way
that an individual was expressing
their own opinion.This reflected
the way that the legislature of the
region itself operated. As I
expected from the get go,
however, the newly emerging
NationRP and the already nation
focused nature of the game led to
successive sessions adopting a
more UN/EU style role - imaging
itself as how a regional
Government would actually
function, with debates shifting to
ambassadorial styles. A perfect
example of this was the
Newunfoundland(s) incident -
the PRC interacted majorly with
the NationRP, acting as how we
would imagine a strong willed
UN would.
Unfortunately, the forum move
has killed the activity of the
PRC, with the first election on
the new forum being held as we
speak. For me, a campaign
focused on representing my
nation will hopefully pave the
way for two parallel legislative
experiences to exist within the
Bloc: 1) The Central Committee
representing our NationStates
government itself, and 2) the
PRC being the Bloc focused,
more fun (to me, anyway)
version of the World Assembly

Lewis should be banned.
First off, just look at the
name. “Lewis”. What kind of
name is that? But I know what
you’re thinking. The name is

explanatory. It’s pretty gross.
Just say the name slowly.

Why would you want to see the
