Ultraview® 10BaseT to AUI Conversion Kit, P/N 040-0992-00

These instructions describe the procedure for converting an Ultraview 1030 (90367), 1050 (90369), 1500 (90363),
1600 (90364), 1700 (90387), or Universal Clinical Workstation (UCW®) (90385) to use AUI (10Base5) instead of
10BaseT cabling.

CAUTION:
• Printed circuit boards in this equipment contain static sensitive devices;
only handle at a static-safe workstation.

• There are many possible configurations in which this kit may be installed. A suggested
configuration for a 90369 or 90367 monitor is shown in Figure 1. Questions about the installation
for a particular configuration should be directed to the local Customer Service Representative.

1. Assure all equipment is powered OFF before starting this installation.

2. If the Nurse Alert cable is attached, disconnect it.
3. Attach dual lock fastener (P/N 214-0287-00) to the rear of the media converter (P/N 010-1132-00). (The rear
is the flat side that does not have LEDs.)
4. Attach the dual lock fastener (P/N 214-0292-00) to the monitor.
5. The media converter may be mounted to the monitor by aligning the dual lock fasteners and pressing firmly.
6. Attach the power cable (P/N 012-0590-02) to the Nurse Alert function at the rear of the monitor.
7. Using one cable tie (P/N 346-0004-00), tie the 10BaseT cable and power cord cables together
approximately three inches from the end of the power cable and 2.5 inches from the end of the 10BaseT
cable, on the ends that feed into the media converter. This will allow the locking 10BaseT connector to be
used to secure the power cable at the media converter.

8. Attach the 10BaseT Ethernet cable (P/N 175-0951-00) and power cable (P/N 012-0590-02) to the media
converter, and attach the other end of the 10BaseT Ethernet cable to the Ethernet connector on the rear of
the monitor.
9. Coil the 10BaseT Ethernet cable and use the remaining three cable ties (P/N 346-0004-00) to secure the
loops that have been made.
10. To complete the installation, plug in an AUI (10Base5) cable to the media converter and power ON all related
equipment.
