FUNCTION
To collect, maintain & control all Site Safety Health & Environment records at site office as
well as to monitor basic site safety conditions.
DUTIES
Assist the Construction Manager/ HSE Manager in setting up the
procedures for Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) on the Project.
Work with the site administration team to setup the filling system for
the compilation of the site HS&E records.
Review all work and all new personnel for safety needs. Complete familiarization with
safety requirements is an integral part of the total job responsibility.
Insist on compliance with all established safety regulations before and during
performance of the work.
Assist with accident investigations to ensure proper reporting and documentation; and
ensure prompt corrections are made after an accident to eliminate recurrences.
Co-ordinate planning and work activities with other supervisory personnel performing
work within or adjacent to their assigned work areas.
Site Engineer / Supervisor who have a responsibility for contractor operations will
monitor contractor compliance with the site safety program. This activity will be
coordinated with the Safety Manager.
Review Contractor method statements and risk assessments and advise
the status to the HSE Manager.
Support the HSE Manager in enforcing the site Health & Safety rules.
Ensure the contractors are keeping the site in a clean and safe
condition at all times.
Ensure the site welfare facilities are being managed and maintained
correctly by the contractors.
Maintain a daily detailed diary of site activities ensuring that any HS&E
issues are captured for the purposes of the weekly progress meetings
with the contractors.
Work with and train the supervisors of the main contractor to ensure
consistent understanding of the site rules are enforced to the
workforce.
Attend toolbox talk once a week with the main contractor and where
necessary, conduct the toolbox talk in dual language.
SUPERVISING RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the situation of issuing, applying and saving HSE records.
