This workbook is a calculation method for the Dow Chemical's Chemical Exposure Index which gives a quick estimate of
the ERPG2 and ERPG3 footprint of a standard scenario described in the guidance book S2S_Chemical_Exposure_Index.doc
The scenarios are described in this guidnce book as is the mathematics of the method which are incorported into the
spreadsheet. There are 3 release types provided:

Piping release or Overflow or relief

vessel nozzle Hose Release when discharge
release quantity known.

This calculation allows you to input hole sizes This calculation allows you to input hose sizes This calculation allows you to use known
for releases, but assumes that any pipe for releases. It assumes that 'full bore' discharge rates.
of a diameter greater than 2 inch will not failure occurs
fail in a guillotine fracture. See the scenario See the scenario

Emergency Response Planning Guidelines and Physical Properties are provided for many common materials.

The reference to level 2 Risk Analysis can be found in the Progressive Process Safety Management Systems within S2S.

Please note that several cases have been filled in on this spreadsheet as examples.
