AUGUST 2018 INTAKE (CONVENTIONAL)
APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR ADMISSION INTO THE FOLLOWING NEW PROGRAMMES:

Applicants should have at least five (5) O-Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and at
least two (2) A-Level passes in relevant subjects. Special Entry may be granted to applicants with a
relevant Diploma. Persons aged at least twenty-five (25) years for males and twenty-three (23) for
females with relevant working experience may be considered under Maturity Entry.

A. SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY


PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 “A” Level passes in Chemistry and any other
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Soil Science and Land natural science subject (Biology, Physics, Physical
Resource Management degree Science, Mathematics, Agriculture, Geography or any
(4 Years) other equivalent subjects)
Graduates for the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Soil Science can be employed as soil scientists, agronomists,
research officers, extension officers, project coordinators, environmental management officers, ecologists, farm
and estate managers, lecturers in public and private colleges and agricultural officers in NGOs and the private
sector, both within and outside Zimbabwe. Graduates will be capacitated to become entrepreneurs that can
start and grow their own businesses in various aspects of agricultural and land resources consultancy. The
students will easily be admitted into post-graduate studies in areas such as soil science, plant nutrition,
agronomy, soil and water management, GIS and systems modelling, land use planning, irrigation, climate change
and environmental management.

B. SCHOOL OF NATURAL SCIENCES AND MATHEMATICS


PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 “A” Level passes in Physics and Mathematics or
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Instrumentation and
and Microprocessor Technology degree “A” Level Physical Science and Mathematics or “A” Level
(4 Years) Physics with Chemistry and Mathematics or their
recognised equivalents.
The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Instrumentation and Microprocessor Technology degree equips graduates to
design, develop, install, manage and maintain equipment which is used to monitor and control processes.
Graduates can work as instrumentation physicists, instrumentation and control experts, metrologists, process
instrumentation experts, advanced process controllers (APC), graduate technologists in distributed control
systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC) or supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) experts.
Other career opportunities are in cutting edge high technology industries such as information technology,
optoelectronics, power generation and transmission, production and process, research and development,
telecommunication and healthcare.

C. SCHOOL OF WILDLIFE, ECOLOGY AND CONSERVATION


PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Environmental At least any two of the following „A‟ Level subjects
Conservation and Geo-informatics degree preferably Geography and any other subject from among
(4 Years) the following: Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology,
Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry, Food Science or
equivalent subjects.
The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Environmental Conservation and Geo-Informatics degree aims to bring into
being specialized, skilled and innovative professionals in the use and application of geo-informatics skills, a
technology and science that develops or uses information science infrastructure in addressing environmental and
natural resource management issues. Graduates are prepared for careers such as environmentalists, land use
planners, cartographers; restoration ecology projects managers, conservation educators, environmental policy
makers and community development workers among others.

D. SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM


PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Event Design and Any two Advanced Level subjects.
Operations degree
(4 Years)
The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Event Design and Operations Degree is designed to equip students with
operational, scientific, managerial and entrepreneurial skills, expertise and knowledge required in the successful
design and management of an event. After successful completion of the degree programme, students will be able
to start and run their own Event based business ventures given the entrepreneurial training involved. Graduates
will also be employable as: event manager, event designer, event marketing consultant, hotel or corporate
functions manager, banqueting coordinator, amusement park manager, convention and visitor‟s bureau manager,
festival event manager and events catering manager careers. Graduates may choose to embark on post-graduate
studies which can lead to academic professions.

Application Forms are obtainable upon payment of a non–refundable Application Fee of fifteen ($15) dollars for Zimbabwean citizens and
fifty ($50) dollars for foreigners. Application Forms can also be downloaded from the University‟s Website http://www.cut.ac.zw. Online

attach certified photocopies of „O‟ Level and „A‟ Level certificates, birth certificate and National Identity Card and proof of payment of

through Ecocash (The University‟s biller code is 28090). The closing date for the receipt of completed Application Forms is 15 August 2018.
