This is the bi-weekly report on the New York State Senate’s web presence. Last week the website
received a total of 64855 visits, a substantial 30,000 visit drop since last the last report. This is most likely
due to the fact that August is a very slow month generally. It had a bounce rate of 55% a small increase
and higher than the long term average of 43%. The website had new visitors 67% of the time, more than
in last report and more than the long term average of 66%.

The live webcasting of session has drawn 678372 visits, only small growth over last period. Archived
footage has followed that growth closely with 607936 views. The short clips on the NYSenate Youtube
account are about 10 times more watched than the full videos of session and events posted on the
nysenateuncut account.

Using social media the Senators now reach a total of 22,818 people through Facebook, using accounts
linked to NYSenate.gov and 13158 through Twitter accounts linked to NYSenate.gov. The marginal
decrease in FB friends/fans may be due to delisting of accounts from NYSenate.gov during this campaign
season. The number Twitter followers rose. The NYSenate account itself currently reaches 4000 people
through its Twitter account.
