This survey is designed to help assess your strengths and limitations in relation to your
competencies and capabilities.

Competencies are often referred to as hard skills, and we can think of them in terms of
technical skills and the ability to perform certain tasks. Competencies may be job specific.

Capabilities are often referred to as soft skills. These relate to personal attributes and are
used in a variety of job rules and industries. This survey breaks capabilities into three areas:
Personal capabilities, Interpersonal capabilities and Cognitive capabilities.

To complete this survey rank yourself on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being Strongly Disagree
and 5 being Strongly Agree. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers!

To enable you to assess your personal development over the first two years of the degree
program you will complete this survey before and after each industry placement. Your
