Intoduction
Swastika had never been a controversial symbol in the world as being an universal symbol
of Good Luck and well-being until after Second World War. German Nazi party and its leader
Adolf Hitler adopted Hakenkreuz, the German term for Vedic or Aryan symbol of Swastika.
The after math of Second world war completely changed the identity of Swastika Symbol in
the mind of western world. Once highly respected and revered symbol of Swastika all over
the world since millennia has been frowned upon with hate, disgust and dislike due to its use
by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi associates as their symbol of nationalism. They waged inhu-
mane and barbaric acts of killing millions of innocent people during Second World War. The
horrific, heinous , brutal and barbaric atrocities inflected by the regime scarred the mind of
the victims and the European world, who rightly or wrongly poured their wrath towards the
mere symbol of Swastika and portrayed it as symbol of hate, horror, brutality and terror.
Once known as gentle, loving, sacred, holy, pious as well as good luck and well-being
symbol of Swastika was also suddenly blamed for those barbaric acts and subsequently
British European and American government ran a big propaganda to tarnish the image of
Swastika Symbol and tried to hold Swastika symbol also responsible and made efforts to
ban the use of Swastika symbol in western world.
Although we all have a great heartfelt pain and sympathy with all the victims and the surviv-
ing family of holocaust , It is difficult to understand the real logic behind blaming and ban-
ning a mere innocent symbol who held pristine, majestic and sacred status among all human
races all over the world and more than half of the population of the world respects, reveres
and worships that same symbol even today. If a mad man utilise the knife to murder other
innocent people, No one can blame or hold a knife responsible for that barbaric act of a
person and impose international ban on knife which is just instrumental. There were many
inhumane atrocities were inflicted under the banner or symbols such as crescent, Cross, Un-
ion Jack in past. Does any government of western world ever consider to treat those sym-
bols or banners same as Swastika and impose a ban and run such hate campaign ?
On-going attitude of European Parliament and American Government to impose the ban on
use of Swastika symbol and European Parliament considering the total ban on use and dis-
play of Swastika symbol in Europe many years ago had prompted and Inspired me to write
an article ‘’ Hands off Our Sacred Swastika’’. Subsequently, I was inspired to write some po-
ems on praising Swastika in positive sense. Although thousands of book written on Swastika
Hitler and Nazism but my publication was the first and foremost attempt to publish poems
on a symbol of Swastika in positive context. I had published Hindi and Gujarati poems on
Swastika and they were well received. I had long time outstanding plan to publish my po-
ems in English too and I am glad that I have been able to fulfil my dream to publish the col-
lection of my poems in English language. I hope all the readers would welcome my effort to
revive and reclaim the legendary pristine status of Swastika, the most ancient symbol of the
world which is famous for representing love, peace, progress, prosperity, harmony, good
luck, well-being, spirituality and divinity. Our good intention of this publication is to promote
Swastika in positive context and to educate the people about the goodness of Swastika. We
hope people opposing Swastika symbol would understand real status and meaning of Swas-
tika and the religious feelings and faith of majority people of the world believing in Swastika
and worshiping Swastika as a divine symbol.
