1 Invalid LDEV Usage on Performance Monitor
Phenomena When displaying the LDEV usage on Performance Monitor, the Long
Range usage was 20%-30% higher than the Short Range one.
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Low
Conditions of Occurrence This problem occurs when all the conditions are met.
1. Switch of Performance Monitor is on,
2. LDEV usage displayed on Performance Monitor is for the LDEV in
RAID5/RAID6 configuration.

2 TC Async pairs suspended after TC Async pairs were created

Phenomena TC Async pairs created in OPEN system. After 20 minutes or so, the pairs
were suspended one by one, and all of them were suspended in the end.

2. A pair is created from RAID500 MCU for RAID500 RCU using OPEN
VOL (regardless of M/F VOL pair), and a pair is created from
RAID400/RAID450 MCU for RAID500 RCU using M/F VOL (regardless
of OPEN VOL pair)
3. The RCU target port for R400/450 M/F Volume and the RCU target port
for R500 open volume are operated on the same MP.
(Example: Port#1E and 5E)

Update.
Phenomena In RAID500 (MCU) – RAID450 (RCU), True Copy pair Resync failed
with SSB=c3ba after upgrading Micro-program.
The pair could not be created when using the port#/LUN within the range
for RAID450.
1. True Copy/True Copy Async volumes,
2. MCU：RAID500 (Version. 50-03-93-00/00 and later)
3. RCU：RAID400 (Version. 01-19-83-00/00 and later) or
RAID450 (From Version 21-10-08 less than Version. 21-13-01-00/00)
4. Though the LUN that can be referenced externally is within the range
for RAID450 (0-255), in fact, the LUN that is controlled internally exceeds
257.

Phenomena When the CSW-1D PCB was blocked during Shadow Image + DB
Validator + I/Os were in progress, SSB=d3f9,138f,1479,d3f8,d313,3289
were reported and the host I/Os became Verify Error.

External conditions:
1. DB Validator,
2. Write on Shadow Image volumes.
Internal conditions:
1. There are traces that the work area of LM directory has been used,
2. The Write command is issued on the same slot where the Read
command has been issued.

5 Verify Error when True Copy Async + DB Validator

Phenomena When the CSW-1D PCB was blocked during True Copy Async + DB
Validator + I/Os were in progress, SSB=d3f9,138f,1479,d3f8,d313,3289
were reported and the host I/Os became Verify Error.

External conditions:
1. DB Validator,
2. Read/Write on True Copy Async volumes,
3. System option mode 257 is ON.
Internal condition:
The Write command is issued on the same slot where the Read command
has been issued.

6 Pending Status Remaining when Executing Group Resync via

BCM
Phenomena When performing True Copy for z/OS Resync with a group of pairs
specified via BCM, the initial copy remained in the Pending status (0%)
and could not carry on.
1. True Copy for z/OS Sync,
2. Using Business Continuity Manager,
3. Group Resync command,
4. Number of suspended pairs in the group is 1024 or more.

7 Improper Report to Byte 9-14 of F/M=0F SSB

Phenomena The failure analysis information was improperly reported to byte 9-14 of
F/M=0F SSB.

1. Mainframe connection,
2. F/M=0F SSB is reported,
Causes and Updates The micro-program has been modified to fix the problem.
In case of DKC emulation type 2105, “0” will be reported to byte 9-14 of
F/M=0F SSB.

8 NO RECORD FOUND Occurred in Mainframe DB2
Environment
Phenomena No Record Found occurred in the environment where DB2 was used.
1. Mainframe
2. RAID level=RAID1
3. DKC type=2105
4. PAV is used, or a single VOL is accessed by multiple hosts at the same
time (Multiple Allegiance environment)
5. CCW that allows multiple I/Os to the same extent concurrently.
6. Track format of the fixed length record (What is called “Regular Data
Format” in IBM)
*1: This problem does not occur in such an environment where concurrent
access to one volume or extent is not allowed.
This is applicable to I/O that is issued when updating records on the same
track by the host, which controls concurrent access.

9 LDEV Format Ended Abnormally

Phenomena When HDD was installed, the LDEV format of an OPEN-V volume
assigned to the expanded CU ended abnormally with [ONL2477W], and
HDD installation failed with [ONL0813E]. At that time, SSB=7b3a was
logged to the SVP.
Conditions of Occurrence When HDD is installed, the maximum number of CUs is expanded, and
the expanded CU is assigned with OPEN-E/OPEN-L/OPEN-V LDEV.

10 ABEND when Read Processing on External Volumes

Phenomena SVP received ABEND dumps (SSB=8554/8555) during Read processing
on external volumes.
1. Using UVM,
2. The host issues Read I/O with long data length.
(Open-V: 256KB or larger, Open-x: 48KB or larger, 3380-x: 48KB or
larger, 3390-x: 56KB or larger)

Phenomena When Window2000 host I/Os and DB Validator were in progress, Verify
Error was reported with SSB=d3f8, 1479 logged.

12 Warning Message when Micro Exchange in Non Stop SCSI

Mode
Phenomena When performing the micro-program exchange in the Non Stop SCSI
mode, a warning message was reported.
When performing the operation forcibly by entering a password, I/Os
failed and LIP was reported. As a result, errors were logged in SYSLOG
and Messages of OS.
Conditions of Occurrence The first time to exchange the micro-program to version 50-03-00-00/00 or
higher with Non Stop SCSI mode ON.
