God of grace, You seek to produce new growth within us. We
confess that we don’t give you much to work with. The seed of PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
faith is small within us. Hope is hard to muster. Love is often
inconvenient. Our sin keeps us from responding to you. Have *HYMN #287G “Lift High the Cross”
mercy on us. Stir us, empower us and redeem us. May we move

 THE NICENE CREED
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the virgin, Mary, and was made
human.

Today is World Communion Sunday. All over the world, East,
West, North and South-Christians are sharing together in
communion. Though we are individuals in Christ, we are one
body! Welcome to worship with our church family, we hope
you know you are an important part of this church body in
Daretown and around the world.

Ladies’ Bible Study -Monday, October 11th at 10am. We will
be continuing our discussion of Paul’s letter to the Philippian
church. We are still studying the first chapter. You don’t
have to have attended last month to join us this month. Bring
a friend and all your questions! Let’s learn and fellowship
together. We meet in the upstairs lounge and everyone is
welcome.
There will be a Nominating Committee Meeting on October
10th at 12:15 pm.
The Ladies Luncheon will be held on Monday, October 11th,
12 noon at Kountry Kitchen in Elmer. For more information

Habitat Work Day will be held on October 16th at 8:30 am.
Plan to come out and use a little muscle! There is much work
for everyone. From teens to families to retirees, we need
lots of help to make light work. What a great opportunity
this is to serve the Lord in action and in deed!

The annual hayride will be held on October 17th , 12 noon at
the Williams’ farm. Join us for fellowship, lunch and a
bonfire! This is a not to be missed event! Contact Samantha
Ewart to find out what items are still needed for lunch.
“Trunk or Treat” Hallelujah Party- Join us on Friday
evening, October 29th from 6-8 pm for our first annual
“trunk or treat”. Bring your children and their friends in
costume (nothing scary please) to walk around and get
“treats” from the trunks/beds of vehicles that will be lined
around the parking lot. We will have hot dogs, crafts and
pumpkin painting! If you could donate your time or would like
to participate please see Joe Pizzuto-Pomaco.
A Congregational Meeting will be held after worship on
November 7th for the purpose of discussing our finances.

The Trustees anticipate making repairs to the porch on the
manse soon. Concerns have also been expressed about the
deteriorating condition of the hedge row along the front
walkway. The Trustees seek input from the congregation as
they move forward. Please address your thoughts to any
Trustee.
Disciple's Pantry in Woodstown is in need of boxed items
such as cereals, pasta, mac-n-cheese, & rice. They want
anything available in a can: vegetables, fruit, baby food,
spaghetti sauce, soups, tuna, pork & beans, canned meat such
as Spam, Turkey, Stew, etc. Peanut butter & jelly is also
needed as well as toilet paper. Dried milk is welcome but
must be in “individual” serving sizes to make distribution
easier and more equal. It has come to our attention that
there is an increased need in Woodstown and that the
pantry has depleted reserves. If you can help, feel free to
give directly to the pantry or leave your contribution in the
box marked in the narthex and we will make sure it gets
there. Thank You to those who have already generously
contributed money. With your donations, the Pantry was
able to purchase food items for distribution this past week.
Join us for a prayer time every Sunday morning in the youth
lounge before church at 9:20am. We are praying for revival
and renewal in our lives, our church and our land.

The Mission of the Month for October is Habitat for
Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing
ministry which seeks to eliminate poverty housing and
homelessness from the world. To accomplish these goals, they
invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build
houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat for
Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, along with his
wife, Linda. Today, they have built over 300,000 houses around
the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000
communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. For more
information you can visit www.habitat.org. Please keep this
ministry in your prayers. Our congregation has been involved in
supporting Habitat since it began in Salem County.
Time of Prayer: On Communion Sundays, the Elders and Pastor
Julia will be available at the front of the church, to pray for
anyone in need. Feel free after the benediction to come forward
and seek prayers and healing for yourself or come as an
intercession for someone else. You may share any prayer
concerns with us…prayers including physical healing, spiritual
struggles, tangible needs, etc. You might also want to share a
testimony of thanksgiving for something God is doing in your life.
You may also request to be anointed with oil.
Bible Reading Challenge ...How are doing with it?
It is easy to start off strong and then lose interest…let’s
encourage one another and our children to keep reading our Bibles
so that we might grow deeper in our faith! Between now and the
beginning of Advent (November 28th) we are being challenged to
read our Bibles and pray for at least 5-10 minutes a day. At the
Birthday Party for Jesus (December 5th) prizes will be given out
for regular readers and the Sunday School class with the average
highest reading will receive a super, duper ice cream party (your
choice of flavors and toppings).
