1. King Duncan is very gentle king who trusts on Macbeth. Macbeth receives many
rewards such as land, money and name of thane of Cawdor from king in order to win a
battle. For instant, “Only I have left to say, More is thy due than more than all can pay.”
(1.4.3-24). King is willing to give Macbeth as much as he can. King have no words to
praise the braveness of Macbeth but at the same time Macbeth thinks of horrible things
in his mind about Dunkan. So, Macbeth is untrustworthy and not loyal.
2. Macbeth realizes that witches first prophecy becomes true and he starts to thinks more
about that prophecies. He begins to plan about taking advantage of king’s kind nature
and kill him when king comes at his home as a guest. As a result Macbeth gains too
much ambition to kill Duncan to make the witches second prophecy true. For example, “I
have no spur To prick the sides of my intent, but only Vaulting ambition, which overleaps
itself, And falls on other” (1.7.25-28). Macbeth have no any reason to kill Duncan but his
ambition overlaps it and he decides to murder king from lady Macbeth’s arguments. In
this way he is too selfish and ruthless person.

3. Macbeth’s meaningless thoughts about witches prophecy and motivation from lady
Macbeth wins his kind nature and he at last goes and murders loyal king of Scotland
King Duncan who is also his guest. For evidence, “I go, and it is done. The bell invites
me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell That summons thee to heaven or to hell.”
(2.1.70-72). The signal from lady Macbeth directs Macbeth towards Duncan’s room and
he murders the king to crown himself. So, Macbeth is selfish and he is murderer who
murders the guest as being Duncan's host. It is shameful for Macbeth. As a result,
Macbeth is foolish, dangerous and good thoughtless person.

Concluding sentence/transition:
Overall, Macbeth is being against of the loyal King and commits crime, which states that his
ambition overcomes on his kindness and he is very foolish, selfish, untrustworthy and ruthless
person which leads to many unpredictable and uncontrollable consequences.

Topic sentence: Macbeth is overconfident and unemotional which express him to make a plan
of killing his old friend Banquo and his son Fleance because of witches prophecy for Banquo.
Quotations from the play and analysis/explanation. (AND In-text citations!!!)
4. Macbeth does not want to fleance to become king but he wants to have a king from his
family. Banquo quiet knows that Macbeth has murder king but Banquo does not do
anything for his safety because he has some trust on Macbeth his old friend but Macbeth
has fear from them and he kind of jealous from Banquo’s prophecy. For instant, “To be
thus is nothing,But to be safely thus. Our fears in Banquo Stick deep, and in his royalty
of nature Reigns that which would be feared.”(3.1.54-57). Macbeth is still not fulfill after
committing a crime of killing Duncan and gaining crown and he feels fear from Banquo
and Fleance. This states his spirit of getting more things.
5. Macbeth is being more liar and tells false things about Banquo to murderers. For
example, “Both of you know Banquo was your enemy.”(3.1.131). Telling lie to win on
someone is a very doubtful. Macbeth crates plan to killing Banquo with Fleance.
Macbeth have very bad ideology for Banquo. For evidence, “It is concluded, Banquo, thy
soul’s fight, if it find heaven, must find it out tonight.”(3.1.162-163). Macbeth does not
hesitate in killing his honourable friend. He is being happy at some point in his heart
about killing Banquo, so that his son will never become king.
6. The murder takes place and Banquo dies but Fleance escapes. When murderers gives
news to Macbeth he still does not become to happy because Fleance run away. And
furthermore, after seeing the ghost of Banquo at the Banquet, Macbeth says to Lady
Macbeth, “ It will have blood, they say./ Blood will have blood. ” (3. 4. 146-147). Macbeth
is making up his mind to comfort and forgive himself. He begins to fight his fear by killing
more people. It is clear that he fails to stop killing others to hold this position. He
becomes dehumanized because he tries to cover up his crimes by killing innocent
Banquo and his son. Obviously, he realizes that this bloody path will have no end. If he
stops killing others, he will be free and get rid of the feeling of guilty. However, he still
goes ahead because he is eager for power and ambition. As a result, Macbeth is a
wicked and cruel guy. He kills his innocent friend so that he can eliminate his worry and
be the king forever.

Concluding sentence/transition:
Finally, Macbeth is very cruel with his own friend from whom he is jealous and it states he is
guilt but wick and dreadful person.
Supporting Argument 3
Topic sentence: At some point Macbeth becomes too cruel and selfish that he does not care
about his wife who encouraged him to get at his destination.
Quotations from the play and analysis/explanation. (AND In-text citations!!!)
7. No matter in what but as a wife Lady Macbeth helps Macbeth in murdering Duncan to
crown him. She helps for his happiness and at last they reaches at destination as
planned but because of Macbeth’s fear he does some mistake and lady Macbeth helps
him. For instance, “Give me the daggers. The sleeping and the dead Are but as pictures.
'Tis the eye of childhood That fears a painted devil. If he do bleed, I’ll gild the faces of
the grooms withal, For it must seem their guilt."(2.2.65-69). Macbeth becomes king
somehow by help of lady Macbeth.

8. As time pass Macbeth decides not to share his important decisions with Lady Macbeth.
He begins to do things by himself and forgets about all things that lady Macbeth did for
him. Even when he decides to murder Banquo he does not tell to Lady Macbeth. For
example, “Be innocent of the knowledge, dearest chuck,Till thou applaud the
deed.” Macbeth thinks that lady Macbeth will not be able to do what he wants and now
he wants show his own power to her. After murder of Banquo he does not wants to tell
that to lady Macbeth. It illustrates that Macbeth is making distance from her wife and he
only cares about his life. It shows how he is being so greedy.
9. When lady Macbeth becomes sick and doctors tells Macbeth about her condition that
she have troubles in her mind, which is a reason that she is walking in sleep : "Not so
sick, my lord,/As she is troubled with thick-coming fanicies/That keep her from her
rest.”(5.3.39-41). Macbeth wants doctor to cure her from medicine but it is not possible
and Lady Macbeth have to erase all thoughts from her mind by herself. By hearing this
Macbeth even does not go to talk with Lady Macbeth that she can share her concerns
with him. Macbeth seems too selfish. At last when he hears screams : “It is the cry of
women, my good lord.” and messenger tells him that lady Macbeth dies : “The queen,
my lord, is dead.” he even does not care. For instance, "She should have died hereafter;
/ There would have been a time for such a word." This suggests that Macbeth regrets
that he does not have time to mourn his wife's death because he is too busy fighting for
his own life. Maybe tomorrow he can mourn her. On the other hand, MAcbeth is a king
of Scotland but he does not care about people living in scotland. This illustrates how
Macbeth is so selfish and careless towards his own family member such as Lady
Macbeth and also towards kingdom’s people. So, Macbeth is so ambitious, emotionless
and hasty and forgetful character.
Concluding sentence/transition:
Eventually, Macbeth is selfish and careless with his family and kingdom people.

influence and that is why he is obnoxious while he is courageous, trustworthy and brave.
Summary of arguments (THREE sentences):Overall, Macbeth is a horrible because he kills
his kinsman and guest king Duncan. He is deplorable because he does not hesitate in
murdering his old friends and their family. He is hateful because he does not concern about lady
Macbeth and kingdom peoples.

he becomes loathsome from heroic character to gain what he really wants by doing strange
things.
