Gap Analysis – At a glance
LRQA’s Gap Analysis assessment examines and reports on your management
systems’ readiness for transition. It focuses on how your management system has
addressed, or plans to address, the changes introduced through the publication
of ISO 9001:2015. Based upon the findings, your assessor will advise whether your
organisation is ready for assessment or indicate areas requiring further attention.
Preparing for the Gap Analysis visit
In advance of the Gap Analysis visit, you should familiarise yourself with
the new and changed requirements within ISO 9001:2015. During the visit,
through a series of questions, our assessor will determine your understanding
of the new requirements and their implications on your management system
and hence your organisation’s readiness to complete the transition successfully.
Do I get a report?
The Gap Analysis is reported using our Transition Tool which will ask you for
responses to probing questions regarding your understanding of the changes
and how you plan to implement them into your management system. You will
receive sufficient documented commentary to enable you to plan your next steps
towards a successful transition.
• Any ‘gaps’, especially where the response is ‘partial’ or ‘unlikely’, are clearly
identified and your assessor will discuss how these gaps may be addressed in
order to demonstrate compliance.
• Please note that the Gap Analysis is not a full assessment against the new
standard requirements and does not directly contribute towards ISO 9001:2015
transition. Consequently, no certificate can be issued.
