GUIDELINES FOR THE 2014 ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM (ALS) ACCREDITATION AND
EQUIVALENCY (A&E) TEST REGISTRATION AND TEST ADMINISTRATION
The Department of Education, through the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS}, will
‘conduct the Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test in two levels: elementary and secondary. The
ARE Test will be administered in seventeen (17) regions covering two hundred nineteen (219)
divisions nationwide.
1. When to register?
Conduct of A&E TEST REGISTRATION 7
| September 1-30, 2014 |
| 2. Where to register?
One secondary school identified by the SDS shall serve as the Registration |
and Testing Center (RTC) of the Division. An elementary school may |
| qualify as RTC, provided the rooms are spacious and armchairs are used,
not desks |
|
1) The RTC shall have the following qualifications:
a. The school is in the most strategic location within the division.
| b. The school has one of the best facilities in the division. These
facilities include clean and accessible toilets for males and
| females. The testing rooms are well-lighted and with good
| ventilation.
c. The school can accommodate the number of test takers
based on the figure of last ALS A&E Test, with thirty (30) |
armchairs per room. |
d. The school should be not less than 30 kilometers away from
| the RTC of another division. |
2) The SDS shall submit to the Regional Office the official name of the
testing center for his/her division on or before August 22, 2014. The |
Regional Director shall subrnit the official list of the testing center for |
| his/her region during the Regional Orientation on August 22, 2014,
3) Any testing center (regular testing center, additional, extension, etc.)
which name has not been formally submitted to BALS on August 22,
2014, shall not be included in the official list of RTCs, hence, no
| conduct of ALS A&E Test shall take place in that center.
ONLY ONE (1) Registration and Testing Center per Division will be
shouldered by BALS. However, a Schools Division whose testing center
exceeds 1500 test registrants based on 2013 A&E test data may request
| for an additional testing center in order to avoid holding of test
administration in open areas, e.g., basketball court, stadium or similar
‘open spaces. Expenses will be shouldered by BALS. |
| in case a Local Government Unit (LGU) or a Non-Government
| Organization (NGO) requests for additional testing center in her/his
‘municipality/area, the LGU or the organization must shoulder the
expenses for the test registration and administration.
