blind flanges, to preserve flange faces (=02 AISI 316SS, spiral wound filled
with graphite and central external CS ring Gaskets).

E-3001 A 5 Clean & Inspect / Repair Accessories


5.1 Internally Clean Shell Cover, Floating Head, Reducer, spacer ring, Floating
Head Backing Device, and channel Section, according to SSPC-SP 12 HP WJ 10 m2
Dimension:

5.1.1 Shell Cover: 1294 mm O.D x 1119 mm length, ASTM-285 Gr C, with internal
coating with cladding type internal coating Material SS 316.
5.1.2 Floating Head : 200 mm O.D x 377mm Length.
5.1.3 Channel: 1176 mm O.D x 1285 mm Length ASTM-285 Gr C With SS 316.
5.1.4 Concentric Reducer: 580 O.D x 116 mm Length
5.1.5 Floating Head Backing Device: 1200 mm O.D x 106 mm Length.
5.2 After Cleaning, inspect cladding material SS 316 and Associated Welding with
1 GL
Penetrant Test.
5.3 Grind undercut and cracking according to penetrant test result. Fill in with
welding, using AWS E-316 Electrode in the cladding and E-7018 Electrode,
for Carbon Steel. Estimated Fill up of 4mm depth. Grind excess welding and 1.5 m2
inspect with penetrant Test. According to contracted specification.

5.4 Prepare surface for thickness measurement location, in accessories and


respective nozzles with Smooth grinding, in an area of 1" square TML 0.1 m2
(thickness measurement location) points as indicated by inspector.

5.5
Remove 15 cm of the Insulation around the 2 inch minor connection and 14
inch connections, in order to carry out inspection of these connections. 4 m2 to
be removed. To reinstall removed insulation, use 2 inch thk mineral fiber,
reinforce with poultry house mesh and 0,5 mm thk aluminum sheet and SS 0.2 m2
strapping.

5.6 Clean Connected welding associated to The Shell Cover and Channel,
according to SSPC-SP2 y SP3 cleaning Specification, and inspect with 0.1 m2
penetrant test.
5.6.1 1½" Ø 300# Flange 1 UNIT
5.6.2 1" Ø 300# Flange 2 UNIT
5.6.3 14" Ø 600# Flange 1 UNIT
5.7 Grind undercut and / or cracking , according to inspection results. Refill with
welding, using ASW E-7018 Electrode. 4 mm of depth welding estimated.
Grind welding excess. 1 m2

5.8 Refill (gudgean) holes of bolts, of the floating head ( with expansion joint),
using AWS E-7018 welding electrode and redo thread. There are 24 holes 24 UNIT
Ø7/8" Ø - UNC x 35 mm length.
5.9 Inspect minor connections, using hammer test.
3 UNIT
5.10 Internally blow all the minor connection and ensure they a free of
obstructions. 3 UNIT

5.11 Ensure that the nozzles are free of the obstruction. 3 UNIT

E-3001 A 6 Clean, Inspect & Repair Tube bundle


6.1 Remove and Re-Install tube bundle, dimension 1414 mm OD x 6096 mm

6.2 Internally Clean Tube Bundle using procedures: SSPC-SP-12 HPWJ. The
tube bundle 1270 tubes OD: ¾”Ø BWG 14, with 6096 mm Length, material 1270 UNIT
ASTM-A-179.
6.3 Using hammer test, visually inspect tube bundle. 1 GL

6.4 Internally Inspect all tubes in tube bundle, with test IRIS 1250 UNIT
6.5 Replace Tube which have mechanical damages or rejected, after carrying out
IRIS Test. Have enough ¾”Ø, 14 BWG con 6096 mm Length, material ASTM- 60 UNIT
A-179 tubes available.
6.6 Install plugs in the tubes according to Inspection results, both in Eddy Current
and in the Hydro Testing, therefore conical ¾" Ø, 14 BWG, plugs must be
fabricated, for tubes, which must be fabricated with bronze material , 70 UNIT
according to specification NRC 1012.

E-3001 A 7 CLEAN, INSPECT & REPAIR SHELL.
7.1 Internally Clean the Shell, with Hydro blasting, minimum pressure 15,000 Lbs.

7.2 Internally clean each 1 inch² , in 20 points , which correspond to TML
(Thickness Monitoring Location) according to specification SSPC-SP 2 / SP3,
as indicated by inspector. in order to measure thickness with ultrasound 0.1 inch²
technique (ultrasonic thickness measurement UTM)

Remove 20 sections of 10x10 cm, of Thermal Heat insulation Rock wool
Blanket (Outer Shell), as indicated by inspector, for inspection. There are
2000 cm2 sections of insulation to be removed. On reinstalling remove
insulation, use 2” thick mineral wool insulation, reinforced with Chicken Wire 0.2 m²
Mesh, and 0,5 mm Thick Aluminum strapping. (In case there no facilities for
internal inspection).

7.4 Clean 20 small 1 inch² areas, of previously removed external, (10x10) cm


insulation, from the outer shell. This cleaning is according to specification
0.1 m²
SSPC-SP 2 / SP3, in order to measure thickness with ultrasound technique
(ultrasonic thickness measurement UTM).

Remove approximately 15 cms insulation around minor connection of 14"Ø, to


carry out inspection. There are 2 m2 of insulation to be removed. When re-
installing removed insulation, use 2” thick mineral wool insulation, reinforced 0.15 m²
with Chicken Wire Mesh, and 0,5 mm Thick Aluminum strapping.

7.6 Prepare surface for thickness measurement of the nozzle, using smooth
grinding, in an area of the 1 inch2 each, in areas indicated by inspection
department. 0.1 m²

7.7 Clean welding, of associated connection areas to shell, according to Cleaning
specification SSPC-SP-03. 2 UNIT

7.8 Grind undercuts and / or cracking according to inspection results. Refill with
welding, using AWS E-7018 Electrodes. There is approximately 4 centimeters
thickness to be refilled. Grind excess welding and inspect with penetrant test. 0.9 m²

E-3001 A 8 CLAEN, INSPECT AND REPAIR EXPANSION JOINT.


8.1 Clean Expansion Joint internally and externally with hydro blasting. 2 m²
8.2 Carry out inspection to expansion joint with penetrant test.

8.3 Inspect SS TP 316L Convolution Bellows Elements . 1 UNIT
8.4 Replace Convolution Bellows Elements of the expansion joint with SS Type A-
1 UNIT
316, if it shows cracks, according to inspection Recommendation.
8.5 Visually Inspect 1 UNIT

E-3001 A 9 CLEAN, INSPECT, AND REPAIR GASKET SEAT.


9.1 Clean gasket inspection area of the equipment according to cleaning
procedures SSPC- SP-3, to carry out inspection. The equipment consist of:

02 Nozzles surfaces: 1236 mm Ø 600# (Shell Cover / Shell).


04 Nozzles Surfaces: 175 mm Ø600# (Fixed plate (2), Shell, Channel Section).
02 Nozzles Surfaces: 578 mm Ø 600# (Spacer Ring (2), Shell Cover, &
Reducer). 1.3 m²
04 - 4"Ø 600# Flange.
(02) 1"Ø 300# Flange.
(01) 1 1/2"Ø 300# Flange.

9.2 Visually inspect Gasket surfaces 1 SG


9.3 According to PDVSA Inspection Results, rectify 125 RMS Flange Gasket . 3 UNIT

10.1

Carry out hydrostatic testing (Using testing ring, on shell side and tube side).
The contractor is responsible to ensure no leakage, (CERO LEAKS),
According to required pressures. This condition will be verified on the pressure
of the equipment, and will the maintained for 1 hour minimum, for acceptance
by PDVSA inspection personnel. 5 UNIT

With test Ring: 30 BAR


Tube Side: 30 BAR
Shell Side: 30 BAR
Convolution Bellows Elements of Expansion Joint: 0,5 BAR (verified with
soapy water for no leakage of the bellows.
Test on Tube side arrangement of exchanger to Expansion Joint: 10
BAR.
10.2 its necessary to expand tube to correct leakage. In Case of leakage, of Tube
rolling. 1 GL
