1. Listening to the teacher and others
in class vs. talking out:
Students will have plenty of opportunities to
collaborate with their classmates, that being said, I
only expect their highest level of attention when
I lecture/give directions for any in-class labs. I
will kindly and calmly remind any students who
talk out of turn or break any classroom rules.
2. Transitions during the day,
entering/exiting the classroom/lab
stations:
Every day I will great all of my students as
they walk in through the door. Once they sit in their
assigned seat, they will read the directions on the
board, which will list what to do before the bell
rings and what is planned for that day (learning
goals, notes, specific lab instructions, HW due next
class, exam reminders etc.). Whenever students go
to a lab stations they are to be treated with the
utmost respect! The bell will dismiss students.
3. Required materials and supplies for
class:
- 3-Subject Mead Notebook (Students will
be using an interactive notebook throughout
the school year for this class) - Glue sticks
(x4) - Scissors - Black/Blue Pens
- Colored pencils
*If students have difficulty purchasing any
school supplies please let me know so I can
accommodate them!
4. Provided classroom supplies:
All necessary lab/safety equipment as well
as extra glue sticks, scissors, colored pencils
and in-class notes will be provided.
5. Restrooms:
Students can leave whenever they need to
during class but must leave their cell phone on
my desk before leaving (to avoid any extra
distractions J).
P r o c e d u r e s
6. Talking to other students in the
classroom, noise level:
Students are highly encouraged to work with
their classmates during the appropriate times in
class. Noise level should be a whisper when I lecture
or if there is an exam/quiz out. Then a normal
speaking voice is appropriate when doing
partner/group work.
7. Eating/drinking during class time:
Since the use of chemicals and other equipment is
used for labs in this class only water is permitted! If 13. Fair and respectful treatment of

the classroom to do so.
8. The teacher’s desks and personal items:
Students may ask to borrow any of the supplies
from my desk for school related assignments
9. Attending to directions:
All directions and plans for the day will be written
on the white board as students enter the class. If your
student deters or distracts others from getting their
work done, they will personally be reminded to get
back on task J
10. Boundaries, when and how others approach
or behave around you:
Students will respect one another, themselves
and the teacher at all times and follow all behavioral
guidelines as stated in their student
handbook/school regulations.
11. Absences:
All absent work can be found via
the online calendar on my teacher
webpage which is found on the
school website. There also is a
designated ‘absent bin’ where all of
the handouts given that day can be
found. If your student misses a lab,
daily quiz or exam this must be
rescheduled!
12. Failure to complete
assignments:
All late work will be given 50%
credit, regardless how late it is.
However students will be given 4 grace
period passes in which they can get one
extra class period to turn in their desired
assignment (except for HW packets
since they are due on the day of
exams).

If your student creates a problem
regarding the respect or treatment of other
students, or myself, within the classroom
then the appropriate actions (that follow
the school guidelines) will be taken.

issues:
All 504s or other medical issues will be
addressed individually should it intervene
with their ability to learn in my class.
