Instructional technology support services

Student Laptop Loan Center
Instructional Technology Support Services (ITSS)
administers the Laptop Loan Center to provide computers for short
term use to John Jay College students. It is conveniently located as
an annex to the ITSS Student Computer Lab Center (1404N).
The Student Laptop Loan Center provides laptops, both Mac and
Windows, to students for academic uses. The loan period is for five
hours. All enrolled students in good standing are eligible and
registration can be completed online.
ITSS introduced this program to provide an alternative
personalized computing experience via compute-anywhere mobile
computers (i.e. Laptops and Tablet PCs). With John Jay College
wireless network connectivity pre-configured and productivity
software such as MS Office, SPSS and others pre-installed,
students can be productive with these laptops immediately upon
receiving them according to the loan procedure. The laptop loan
procedure simply requires students to pre-register and agree to the
loan policies, then present their valid JJC student ID cards at the
Laptop Loan Center.
