Informal letter of giving information

Dear Harry,

I’m glad you stopped thinking I was crazy when I decided to join the association Prime and you
want to join it also.

The first thing I have to tell you is that Prime Romania is the only student organization for
Communication and Public Relation in Romania. The main objective of the association is to
facilitate a connection between theory and practice, between students and professionals in this
field. Let me tell you that is important for our practice in faculty .

As for the people from there, don’t worry. They are very helpful and they are ready to prepare
you to understand the complicated word of public relations. Now I’m working on a project which
are going to help me to improve my skills. So don’t miss this opportunity !

However, you don’t have to come here in Bucharest, because Prime has to two branches in
Brasov and Iasi and it will be easy for you to go in Brasov. By the way, this association has a
registration tariff tune of 70 lei. It is not too much. Prime will use that money in events or
workshops.

I don’t think you will get bored because there were lots of enjoyable things to do. It is the best
society in the world, because the people from there know how to combine work with
entertainment. For example, during the day you will work and in the middle of the night they
throw amazing parties like Christmas party (where you receive presents).

I hope that I convinced you to join our organization and I’m glad that you were interested in. I’m
waiting for you here.

Formal letter of application

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing to apply for the position of Public Relations Officer at the 4 ACE-pr&publicity, as
advertised recently on SEEK.ro. I am interested in joining your staff and making immediate
contribution to your continued growth and success.

As outlined in my curriculum vitae, which I have enclosed, I attended National College” Mihai
Viteazul” Slobozia where I completed my studies with level “A”. In 2013, I graduated from the
University of Bucharest : Communication and public relationships.

After graduation, I trained as a specialist in public relationship in IPRA for one year. My interest
in public relation was heightened during my internship with Millenium Comunication. During
this internship, I accompanied account representatives in making presentations to large and small
clients.

In my current role as Public Relations Officer at PRAIS Corporate Communications, I am

responsible for the implementation of PR strategies. I am also responsible for the training other
staff in responding to public queries.

I have serious social skills and I also have strong talents in creating, writing, and producing
communication pieces. My organizational abilities have allowed me to prioritize schedules an
complete projects within time and budget guidelines.

I would appreciate your time and consideration in reviewing my credentials. I know I will make a
positive contribution to 4 ACE-pr&publicity, and look forward to discussing my capabilities in

Formal letter of complaint

Dear Mr. Kennedy ,

I am writing to complain about the poor quality of service we received in your hotel recently.

My family and I recently took a Christmas vacation to Bulgaria. We chose to stay at the
“Burgas”. We picked your hotel because of the location, and some positive reviews I had read
online. We liked the restaurant at your hotel, because the food was weel cooked and the waiters
paid attention to every detail. However, we were very disappointed of the aspect of the room.

When we got to our room, we noticed that it was mold in the room and the window was dirty and
it didn’t close very well. I addition, the floor was dirty and needed to be vacuumed. We called the
front desk staff to ask to solve the problems. She was very impolite and she didn’t solve anything.

Our second day, when we returned from the trip, we noticed that the beds had not been made, and
cleaning stuff had not done the job. We asked for another room but the stuff had not taken us
seriously. Besides, some members of the stuff do not speak English.

What is not fair is that we did pay for full services and we didn’t receive them. Because of this
big problems we decied to leave this hotel and we moved to another.

I am writing you this letter, Mr. Kennedy to let you know of the poor service at your hotel. You’d
better give this matter your attention, or else we may be forced to take legal action.I look forward
to receiving your explanation of these matters.

Personal statement

My name is Dobre Elena Diana and I am a 12 th grade student at the “National College Mihai
Viteazul” in Slobozia, Romania. I’m studying philology and I am going to graduate in June 2013.

I want to apply, because I would like to learn in a new environment where I can put into practice
my skills, abilities and my knowledge in dotted condition, including the possibility of a future
career in business.

The reason why I chose to study in your university it’s because I believe that greater
accomplishment it’s due to an environment suitable to education. I consider that flexibility,
interactivity and the stimulating environment are very significant, therefore I am persuaded that I
will easily adapt to it. I chose England, because throughout its culture and especially the variety
of lifestyles, I can easily found a place for me among its habitants. I also fell in love with the
country’s beautiful landscapes, which I am pretty sure that it is an advantage towards the
apprenticeship of every aspect of knowledge. I consider that the opportunity to find a part-time
job during the university years can be a very good option: on one hand, I can gain a lot of
experience working and on the other hand it makes me more or less independent financially. The
desire to improve my knowledge in the business field is extremely useful because it comes from
trying to simplify things and to understand logic and get a clearer picture of things. I chose
studying management because I like the idea of independence, as the idea of my own business:
quite challenging. Management function in a company, it’s to provide efficient activities aimed at
obtaining the best results through optimal use of resources. Mixing the previous field with strong
business knowledge, I think it’s the perfect recipe to succeed on their own. I was fortunate to
meet over time, some people, business men and women, who have studied, worked and now have
successful careers.

Extracurricular activities can be mentioned as “European Computer Driving Licence” (ECDL)

after which I gained solid knowledge on computer use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft
Access, Microsoft Outlook) certified with a diploma knowledge obtained for each of these
branches of the PC. I have participated in several extracurricular activities that implied
successfully, working within a team for obtaining the best results. I have also participated in some
projects, which had different themes. They included outgoing activities through parks, exhibitions
with different hand-made objects and a play with the same theme. All through my scholarship,
I’ve always preferred activities imposing responsibility and seriousness, from which I’ve
understood what means to be organized, a quality specific to the field of business.

I am a dynamic person, perseverant, sociable, which offers me more enthusiasm about studying
in a foreign language in a strange country. I appreciate the spirit of competition, teamwork and I
am always open to new challenges. Motivation brought up in me the willingness to study in this
country because I’m determined to reach the highest academic level in the business field.

I look forward to the unique experience of faculty and the opportunity to study abroad makes it
the most interesting and enthusiastic experience so far!
