VISION
The Alvord Unified School District Promise:
“All students will realize their unlimited potential”

“Your health and physical fitness is important to us a LVMS. Our award winning physical education
department integrates physical fitness and nutrition into the daily lives of our students… LVMS has
received a number of state awards for physical fitness including the Governor's Challenge, where
we were awarded a new fitness center, and a Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards from the Alliance for
a Healthier Generation. Loma Vista received the Gold award during the 2016/2017 school year for
our hard work and dedication. We were 1 of only 14 schools in the nation to receive this recognition.
Presently we are working towards our second gold award. Our lions know the importance of a
healthy body and a healthy mind so that "All students may realize their unlimited potential!”

Making Up Lost Points: Absences can affect a student’s grade. A student with excused absences
must make up for the lost points within a week of returning back to school. Students can make up
for lost points by completing (1) SPORTS PACKET for each day missed or inability to

Parents can excuse their student with a written medical note for up to 2 days. Anything thereafter,
a Doc’s note is required to excuse a student from P.E. participation. Arrangements must be made
with the teacher in advance prior to student going on vacation (more than 10 consecutive days) or
