III. COURSE DESCRIPTION


This course is designed to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a Computer Systems
Service Technician in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic and common
competencies such as installing, maintaining, configuring, and diagnosing computer systems and
networks.

VII. RATIONALE
The Computer Systems Servicing qualification consists of competencies that must possess
to enable to install and configure computers systems, set-up computer networks and servers and to
maintain and repair computer systems and networks.

This Qualification is packaged from the competency map of the Electronics Industry as
shown in Annex A Competency Map.

The units of competency comprising this qualification include the following:

VIII. OBJECTIVE
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
 install and configure computer systems and networks;
 set-up computer networks;
 set-up computer servers; and
 maintain and repair computer systems and networks.

There are two (2) grading periods (second/ midterm & third/ final term) for each semester. The
cumulative system of computing grades shall be followed. Grades computed for each term are considered
tentative. The final grade is computed by getting the 40% of the second/ midterm grade plus 60% of the third/
final term grade equals 100% of the final grade.
