• Created in 1956 by educational psychologist Dr Benjamin • Bloom’s Taxonomy employs three distinct domains: the
Bloom cognitive, the affective, and the psychomotor, which are
described as follows:
• Promotes higher forms of thinking in education
• Three Domains of Learning • “the cognitive domain … includes those objectives [that]
– Cognitive: mental skills (knowledge) deal with the recall or recognition of knowledge and the
development of intellectual abilities and skills.”
– Affective: growth in feelings or emotional areas
(attitude or self)
• “the affective domain … includes objectives [that] describe
– Psychomotor: manual or physical skills (skills) changes in interest, attitudes, and values …”
