Module Mechanics..
All NSN Flexi WCDMA modules are outdoor-capable, hermetically sealed and IP 55
class protected.
Module core
• Core mechanics with optional front and back covers shield the module against water,
snow, and solid foreign objects, and makes the module IP 55 weather resistant.
• Core mechanics provide EMC shielding.
• All connectors are located in the front with weather-protecting covers.
Module casing
• Casing supports the pile of modules.
• Module Core can be changed ; even when the module is at the bottom of the module
stack.
Fan sub-module
• Fan sub-module provides the fresh air cooling to module.
• The System Module controls the fans according to temperature information.
• Two redundant fans enable module operation if one fails in normal temperature.
• Fan sub-module can be changed in during normal operation at sites where rear access
is provided.

Flexi Rel.3 Multiradio System Module (FSMF)
System Module Rel.3 (so called Flexi Multiradio 10 BTS System Module) is new, software defined BTS for four different
Capacity of System Module Rel.3 can be extended with optional capacity extension sub modules (FBBA).
Up to two capacity extension sub modules can be used per single System Modules Rel.3.
FSMF System Module and FBBA extension sub modules are seen as one common pool of baseband capacity.

Optional Transport sub-module, FTIF Summary
Integrated Ethernet transport (EIF1 - RJ45) is available in FSMF System Module for IP sites.
FTIF is an optional Transport Sub-module for Flexi Multiradio 10 BTS System Module (FSMF).
FTIF enhances the connectivity and transport mode options of Flexi Multiradio 10 BTS.
Connectivity:
Up to 8 x E1/T1/JT1 interfaces on 4 x “RJ48C-style” ports to interconnect with TDM based transport networks or equipment on
site
Up to two additional Ethernet ports via optical/electrical combo ports for chaining or collocation
Transport modes:
Public
Optional Transport sub-module, FTIF Interfaces
Flexi Multiradio 10 System Module integrated Transport and FTIF build a single logical Transport node.
Each "RJ48C-Style" port offers 2 x E1/T1/JT1 interfaces which are both accessible via one FTCY cable.
Other E1/T1/JT1 cables are supported, they provide one PDH interface per RJ48C port (interfaces 1, 2, 3, and 4).

capacity
•RF Module chaining capability per RP3
• New baseband architecture in RU30 (1 GB baseband) uses internal SRIO (Serial Rapid IO)
chain between DSP processors for better timing and better HSPA and baseband capacity
(HSPA capacity increase ~200%, R99 capacity increase ~50%)
RFM
• Rel2 System Module does not have external SRIO interface i.e. when Extension System FSMD (Master)
Module is connected, there is no SRIO between System Modules and thus HSPA schedulers No SRIO
connector
in Master System Module cannot communicate with Extension System Module DSPs
FSMD (Extension)
• If HSDPA scheduler exists e.g. in Master System Module, then Uplink ( A-DCH and
HSUPA) traffic needs to be also processed there

MoP for Replacement of FSIA/B & FSMC/D with FSMF
along with changes in commissioning steps
All new FSMF version A.103 modules are delivered with preinstalled LN4.0 1.2 (LTE SW). So FSMF SW needs to be updated to
the WCDMA version (WN8.0 2.0 or above) as follows before commissioning:

Licensing aspects
• In RU 40 ,CE licenses are valid for R99 traffic
Public
Rel99 CE licenses consumption:
• CCCH resources (if needed e.g. extended cell case) from pure System
Module rel.2 BTS
• R99 users (PS, CS services)
• A-DCH (Associated DCH)
Public
HSUPA BTS processing set
• In RU40 HSUPA BTS processing set license allows for allocation of 24
HSUPA UEs and 5.8Mbps throughput
• R99 UEs can be allocated into one HSUPA processing set (per LCG) even
there is no R99 CE license (48 Rel99 CE)
• HSUPA BTS processing set does not enable peak UL throughputs, but it
can limit those (as HSDPA BTS processing set does for DL throughput).
For achieving peak UL throughputs customer needs to buy separate
license for peak throughput features like HSUPA 16QAM.

Local Cell Group
• Local Cell Grouping allows splitting available baseband capacity into
baseband pools responsible for processing traffic from dedicated group of
cells.
• Local Cell Grouping may be needed in case of BTSs with many cells, and
can be used in Multi Operator RAN (MORAN) case.
• When Local Cell Grouping is done – available BTS capacity is split among
LCG according to BTS commissioning settings. Baseband allocation to
LCG is constant

System Module
Replacement
• Take back up of existing commissioning files
• Take a snap of License management window with Target id before starting
activity.
• Do not switch off the RF module.
• Swap the System Module
• Power on the SM and during the restart process ,please interconnect optical
cable between RF module & SM,
NB:- Please do not connect the IuB
• Do the commissioning by selecting the template option and using old
commissioning file
• Once commissiong is completed pls confirm the target id is same as that of
old module . Then pls connect the IuB to load all the license back from
OSS pool to NodeB

RFS (Restore Factory Settings)
When to Use
• A problem happened during installation/commissioning phase when
new/replacement unit has been installed to network.
• BTS Site Manager connection cannot be established.
• SW mismatches between different Flexi BTS HW modules. SW download
progress may not start at all or is partly downloaded to BTS but not
completely.
• Commissioning steps cannot be successfully completed. BTS cannot
become operational with normal re-commissioning steps.
Public
• FSM cannot be reused in another BTS site due to existing site
configuration and licensing configuration.
• FSM needs to be reused in another technology.
Steps..
1) Uncompress RFSToolv3 delivery package to local directory

CE count:
RU20 (WN6.0)
Each FSPx have 7 Faraday’s (DSPs). So total CE count in FSMD =
(7+7)*36=504, Out of which 396 are available for traffic use since rest is
used for control signalling.
Public
RU30 (WN7.0)
Each FSPx have 7 Faraday’s (DSPs). So total Rel.99 CE count in
FSMD = (7+7)*48=672. In RU30, Subunits count also introduced along
with Rel.99 CE, HSDPA & HSUPA processing sets. 14 Subunits are
there in FSMD, out of which 12 SU are available for traffic: therefore,
Rel.99 CE available is 12*48 = 576.
1 to 4 HSDPA PS2 licenses utilizes 2.25 SUs & each HSUPA PS1
uses 1.5 SUs. (for 1 LCG - Local Cell Group & non-MIMO)
