Course objectives
This 15 hour course teaches participants how to plan, organize, and deliver enjoyable coaching
session in a safe environment. Participants will learn how to organize small-sided games and age
appropriate sessions, and develop in players a variety of technical skills - juggling, passing,
receiving, shooting, dribbling and running with the ball. The course curriculum also focuses on
working with and educating parents about positive support, reinforces responsible conduct of a
coach and deliver knowledge of basic laws of the game.
Who is the Intro to Coaching course for?
The course is geared toward Parents, Team Managers, PE Teachers, Current & former players who are
new to coaching; and existing coaches (especially U7-U11) who have not had any formal coaching
education. Candidates are encouraged to be in reasonable physical condition and to be prepared
to participate in drills being run by their fellow coaches.
Those participants achieving a specific score and demonstrating proficiency in their assessment
will be considered for recommendation as candidates to progress to the BFCA’s UEFA C
equivalent course.
