II. CONDICIONES PARA EL DESARROLLO DEL CURSO

 The professor is to assist meaningful theoretical and practical explanations and
support to learners in assignments the same as the teaching and correction
strategies during the class. Therefore, learners’ active participation and performance
are required in order to develop and improve language skills and interaction. Thus, to
enhance and strengthen language learning the professor assigns guided and
independent tasks to promote autonomous learning on students.
 Mutual respect is a “must” in and out of the class
 Students and teachers will always be at least 5 minutes before the class starts
 Students/teacher will always have a positive attitude towards the class
 Attentive listening is a “must” from both, teachers and students
 Everyone`s opinion counts
 Everyone`s work counts
 No put-downs in the class (Not to use words, actions, and/or body language to
degrade, humiliate, or dishonor others)
 Everyone has the right to pass
 Students participation is a ¨must¨ in class

Class attendance

 Students are expected to attend all sessions. Hence, class attendance is highly
recommended and fundamental for having a clear picture and blueprints about
explanations and instructions on written assignments, tests, and scored activities. In
case emergencies occur, it is necessary to contact the professor and show official
documents “certification” on time for supporting absences if needed*
 The attendance list is expected in class and students must sign it, otherwise, it will be
counted as an absence. If a student misses a class, he/she needs to let the teacher
know the reasons of his /her absence.
 If a student arrives after the class has started, he/she will get an absence for that first
hour.
 Students assume responsibility for requesting all grades and announcements about
workshops, written exercises, quizzes, etc when they miss a class.
 Another aspect that will be taking into account will be the self- awareness at the
moment of irresponsibility by the student. For example, if the student is not present in
the class when a quiz is carried out, the student has to be aware that he/she does
not have the opportunity to present it in other time. For those students who have a
pertinent excuse (medical situation, a relative death), they have two days since the
date it was supposed to present the quiz or workshop to talk to the teacher and

submit a new work or presentation to be graded. Students should pay what it has
been stated by the university to accomplish it.
 Students need to switch off/put in silent mode their cell phones while in class in order
to avoid class interruptions.
 Students should submit any written exercise following the teacher guidelines
(Example: intructions related to form and content of the assignment).
 In case of any difficulty between/ among the teacher and students, the student(s)
should talk to the teacher first about it. If there was not an agreement among them,
the process to be followed is the one established by the university.
 Plagiarism will be penalized with a ¨0¨ Zero on the activity where plagiarism is proved.
