INTRODUCTION
Not knowing yourself will prompt disarray and squandering much time in hit and miss
circumstances. We tend to think little of the significance of knowing ourselves. A significant number
of us experience every day responding to events and simply getting by instead of making conscious
choices on basis of who we are and what we need. When we do not know where we are going it is
difficult to set objectives, get inspired and decide the best game plan. Before we can do any of these
things, we should build up our identity.

A personal development plan provides a framework that will you identify the areas of their strengths
and weaknesses and come up with a guide that will optimize and capitalize on their existing skills
and capabilities. It is a snapshot of where do you stand at the time of the assessment that lets you
reflect on your next steps. We are always learning, constantly. Development is a progressive process
in everybody’s life. When you create your personal development plan, it can provide you with that
time for self-reflection. It should actually be an open door for you to inspect what are the
opportunities you can work on that are really going to help you succeed and really do something
about it. A clear objective of this process is to analyze your knowledge, skills, capabilities and other
qualifications.

If one was to ask my friends to describe me they would describe me as a very pleasant, diverse,
active and intelligent guy who loves adventures and has a carefree attitude towards life. I believe
love and empathy are indispensable for anything to thrive in this universe.

I, a B.tech graduate have a reason for doing MBA. I believe businesses can never run on technology
alone. The core principles and frameworks that I will learn during my MBA education will help me
marry technical know-how (my idea) with a valid business model. Great ideas without business
models tank all the time. , it was only after I was in the middle of completing my engineering that I
realized that a degree in management would go a long way in helping me develop a broader outlook
or perspective on life thus enabling me to put all that I had learnt so far, to good use in the future.

Personality type and Individual competency

I have tried to identify and catalog my personality using different techniques such as MBTI, BIG 5,
Johari Window.

Johari window forms an important part of the research as it provides you with a prospect to
experience and comprehend the way in which others perceive you.

A combination of MBTI and BIG 5 helps in a thorough and exhaustive research.

BIG 5
(Ref: https://www.truity.com/personality-test/1628/test-results/4692821)

I am Moderately Open to Experience

My score for openness was 63%. This is in the moderate range.

Openness describes a person’s tendency to think in abstract, complex ways. High scorers tend
to be creative, adventurous, and intellectual. They enjoy playing with ideas and discovering
novel experiences. Low scorers tend to be practical, conventional, and focused on the
concrete. They tend to avoid the unknown and follow traditional ways.

Openness is strongly related to a person’s interest in art and culture. People who are high in
openness tend to enjoy the arts and seek out unusual, complex forms of self -expression.
People who are low in openness are often suspicious of the arts and prefer to focus on more
practical pursuits.

Because my score is in the midrange, it is likely that I do not stand out as either a particularly
imaginative, nor a particularly conservative person. I probably do not consider myself to be
particularly creative or unconventional. I probably also do not appear especially conservative
or narrow in my interests.

I am Moderately Conscientious

My score for conscientiousness was 58%, which is in the moderate range.

Conscientiousness describes a person’s ability to exercise self -discipline and control in order
to pursue their goals. High scorers are organized and determined, and are able to forego
immediate gratification for the sake of long-term achievement. Low scorers are impulsive and
easily sidetracked.

The concept of Conscientiousness focuses on a dilemma we all face: shall I do what feels good
now, or instead do what is less fun but will pay off in the future? Some people are more likely
to choose fun in the moment, and thus are low in Conscientiousness. Others are more likely
to work doggedly toward their goals, and thus are high in this trait.

My score for Conscientious is in the moderate range, indicating that I am fairly average in my
tendency to respond to impulses. I probably have some long-term goals and am fairly
successful in pursuing them, but can be sidetracked sometimes when a particularly attractive
diversion presents itself.

I am Moderately Extraverted

My score for Extraversion was moderate, at 58%.

Extraversion describes a person’s inclination to seek stimulation from the outside world,
especially in the form of attention from other people. Extraverts engage actively with others
to earn friendship, admiration, power, status, excitement, and romance. Introverts, on the
other hand, conserve their energy, and do not work as hard to earn these social rewards.

Extraversion seems to be related to the emotional payoff that a person gets from achieving a
goal. While everyone experiences victories in life, it seems that extroverts are especially
thrilled by these victories, especially when they earn the attention of others. Getting a
promotion, finding a new romance, or winning an award are all likely to bring an extrovert
great joy.

In contrast, introverts do not experience as much of a “high” from social achievements. Thus,
they don’t make as much effort to seek them out. Introverts tend to be more content with
simple, quiet lives, and rarely seek attention from others.

My mid-range score on this dimension indicates that I am fairly average in my motivation to

seek out social rewards. I probably have some desire for admiration, influence, and prestige,
but I can also be content when I am not winning recognition from others.

I am Moderate in Agreeableness

My score for Agreeableness was moderate, at 68%.

Agreeableness describes a person’s tendency to put others’ needs ahead of their own, and to
cooperate rather than compete with others. People who are high in Agreeableness experience
a great deal of empathy and tend to get pleasure out of serving and taking care of others.
They are usually trusting and forgiving.

People who are low in Agreeableness tend to experience less empathy and put their own
concerns ahead of others. Low scorers are often described as hos tile, competitive, and
antagonistic. They tend to have more conflictual relationships and often fall out with people.

My moderate score in Agreeableness indicates that I am fairly typical in the degree to which
I balance my own interests with the interests of others. I am probably willing to sacrifice
myself for others some of the time, but I also watch out for myself quite a bit.

I am Moderate in Neuroticism

My score for Neuroticism was moderate, at 48%.

Neuroticism describes a person’s tendency to experience negative emotions, including fear,

sadness, anxiety, guilt, and shame. While everyone experiences these emotions from time to
time, some people are more prone to them than others.

This trait can be thought of as an alarm system. People experience nega tive emotions as a
sign that something is wrong in the world. You may be in danger, so you feel fear. Or you may
have done something morally wrong, so you feel guilty. However, not everyone has the same
reaction to a given situation. High Neuroticism scorers are more likely to react to a situation
with fear, anger, sadness, and the like. Low Neuroticism scorers are more likely to brush off
their misfortune and move on.
My score indicates that I am fairly typical in my tendency to experience negative emotions. I
probably feel sadness, worry, anger, and guilt about as much as the average person. I am
neither overly reactive, nor especially resistant to the stresses of life.

INTROVERSION
Reserved Unassuming, Thoughtful, Calm
My energy style is Introversion (in contrast with Extraversion). This dimension describes how I

distance from the outside world and prefer to conserve their energy rather than expend a lot of
effort seeking excitement.
I enjoy:
 Contemplating ideas and experiences
 Being in calm surroundings
 Exploring a subject in depth
 Reflecting on thoughts or feelings
 Maintaining distance and privacy
 Quiet and solitude

SENSING

recalling facts and details.

 Observing sights, sounds, sensations
 Noticing details

OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXCELLENCE

 Find ways to be supportive and caring. I will feel personally fulfilled when I are able to lend a
hand
 Keep working steadily towards my goals. I have the focus and dedication to achieve anything
I set my mind to.
 Seek out opportunities to bring people together. I enjoy the sense of connection and
camaraderie I get from working with a team.
 Use my awareness of the emotions of others to bring harmony to my environment. Be an
advocate for others to make sure everyone feel supported.

POTENTIAL PITFALLS
 Try to loosen up a bit and take more risks. I am uncomfortable with the unknown, but there
are times when taking a chance can have a tremendous reward.
 Don’t downplay the importance of my hard work. My preference for keeping to the
background may cause others to overlook my contributions, but I deserve to be appreciated.
 Work on letting myself say no when someone asks for my help. It's important that I give my
own feelings and responsibilities priority in order to stay motivated.
 Try not be so focused on safeguarding the emotions of others that I neglect logical
considerations. There are times when the best decision is an unpopular one.
