OBA Answers
1. Muscle ‐ loss abduction and laterally rotate

MEQ Answers
1. The Qs I recalled was one of the human shown in Crossman and Neary’s Neuroanatomy 3rd edition
pg. 83‐85. The Qs also expects you to tell about the reflexes seen (high reflex integrate at midbrain
level etc), what the limbs were doing (all 4 limbs relaxed etc), other observations. The diagnosis was
the patient had his brain stem decerebrate, so maybe you would want to read up on that just in case
it comes out again.

1. Pictures of rheumatoid arthritis hands etc. Descriptions asked: Fusiform swelling, rheumatoid
nodule, reduced, erosion, cyst etc. Read up on RA.
Brown Sequard – Meningitis, Syphilis, TB, Multiple Sclerosis
2. The Qs I recalled was Fig. 8.12 shown in Crossman and Neary’s Neuroanatomy 3rd edition pg. 74.
Label the pictures: muscle spindle, 1a, spinal cord (integrating centre) etc. Other anwers: Stretch,
Inverse stretch, withdrawal, + supporting ‐, Micturition, Defecation
Give examples of when do the following occur:
a) Muscle weakness: lower motor, compression sciatic nerve, K+ loss, Parkinson, Guillian Barre,
Myasthenia gravis
b) Tingling sensation: Vitamin B12 deficiency, diabetic neuropathy, pressure ascending tracts
These answers are by no means perfect, imagining trying to make sense of your own
scribbles/doodles after a year or so. I just hope u guys find them useful, and not confusing anyone
