1 About This Document

1.1 Purpose
This document describes how to get started with the WMRR (WCDMA
Measurement Result Recording) GUI (Graphical User Interface). WMRR is
part of the RNO (Radio Network Optimization) application family included in
OSS-RC (Operations Support System Radio and Core). This document also
contains a database description.

1.2 Target Group

The intended target group for this document is users of the RNO applications.

1.3 Prerequisites
It is assumed that the user of this document:

• Is familiar with window-based computer interfaces

• Is familiar with OSS-RC

• Is familiar with the RNO applications

1.4 Typographic Conventions

The typographic conventions for all CPI in OSS-RC is found in Reference [2].

2 WMRR Overview

WMRR is a tool included in the RNO product family.

WMRR is mainly used for:

• Evaluating and supervising network performance and quality

• Performing network tuning and optimization

The feature concept is to collect statistics from User Equipment (UE), Radio
Network Controller (RNC) and Radio Base Station (RBS).

The following RNC Measurement Quantities are collected:

• DL BLER

• UL BLER

• UE Tx Power

• DL CPICH Ec/No

• DL CPICH RSCP

The following RBS Measurement is collected:

• DL Tx Code Power per Spreading Factor (SF)

For more details about WMRR, read WMRR Function Description, Reference
[3] and Radio Environment Statistics, User Description, Reference [4].

3 Getting Started

3.1 Starting WMRR

WMRR is started when RNO is started.

Start RNO from the OSS-RC workspace menu, or from ONE (OSS Network
Explorer).

With WMRR, the following tasks can be performed:

• Starting a recording

Click File -> New Recording -> MRR -> WCDMA.

• Open the WMRR reports

Select a MRR WCDMA result in the RNO main window, and click Reports
-> WMRR. It is also possible to double click on a MRR WCDMA result to
open the Overview Report.

To read more about WMRR and the WMRR tasks open the online help.

3.2 Exiting WMRR

WMRR is ended when RNO is ended. To exit the RNO main window (and all
RNO applications) select File -> Exit.

the RNO applications. Help is also available from Help buttons in any of the
dialog windows.

Note: It is possible to read WMRR Help information even if you open the Help
Viewer from another RNO application.

The Help menu contains the following items:

Overview Presents a brief description of the active window and how

it is used
Table of Presents a list of contents of available help information
Contents
How to Presents task-oriented help
Using Help Presents a description of how the help system is structured
and how it is used
Release Notes Presents information on the news in this release. The
information, however, is only available in the RNO main
window.
Product Presents information about the versions of the applications
