GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON


"HAPPINESS CURRICULUM"

Sub:- National Workshop on the "HAPPINESS CURRICULUM" to be introduced in


the Govt. Schools of the Directorate of Education.

Reference is invited to the Public Notice No. DIP/Shabdarth/ D/0205/17-18


dated 09/03/2018 in the leading newspapers regarding National Workshop on the
/lHAPPINESS CURRICULUM II
to be introduced in the Govt. schools of the
Directorate of Education. Interested organizations NGOs/Foundations/
Universities/ Schools/Individuals/Teachers etc. are required to submit already
developed curriculum/ideas/thoughts with the Directorate of Education.
Education has to serve a larger moral and societal purpose and cannot be , looked
at in isolation from the needs of the society. r-

The primary purpose of education has to be to create happy} confident and


fulfilled human beings} who will playa meaningful role in society. This is the main
moral pur-pose of Education. This is the most important way to keep the
democratic ideals alive in citizens. Whatever we do is for the sake of happiness.
Happiness is the greatest human expression. It can be said that the ultimate aim
of all human beings is to achieve happiness in their lives.
Schools in many countries have done this. Across the world} education
administrators are realising the need for a happiness or well-being lesson for
children. Self-aware} sensitive and emotionally mature children are far more
successful owing to their advanced ability to engage in meaningful relationships

In this connection, SCERTis going to organize a National Workshop on "Happiness
Curriculum" sometime in the last week of March 2018.

Guidelines for participation ;-


1. All those interested in sharing their already developed curriculum/
thoughts/ideas must submit their resume along with the Response Sheet in
Annexure 1 (enclosed).

2. The proposals/ideas/curriculum shared should be duly typed and sent to the


emaillD given.
3, The proposals/ideas/curriculum should be categorized into 3 groups :-
• Class Nursery to class II
• Class III to class V
• Class VI to class VIII
4. The inputs will be examined by the stakeholders and selected entries will be
invited to participate in the National Workshop.
5. The Directorate of Education reserves the right to invite only the selected
participants.
This issues with the prior approval of the competent authority.
