Turning on spoken menus (VoiceGuide)
Press 'Shift' which is the bottom left key and 'space bar' which is the long key in bottom row, simultaneously. There is no indication that the speech has turned on until you start to navigate the device.
Turning on text to speech
Press 'home', on the bottom row, second key from the right. Select an item to read from your library list and open it. There are then two ways of turning on the speech. Whichever you use will need repeating each time you open a book: 1) Press 'shift' and 'Sym' together. Shift is the bottom left key and Sym is one key to the right of the spacebar, one key up and then one to the right again. 2) Press 'AA', to the right of the large space bar button on the bottom row. With Voice Guide on, the device will say 'page preferences'. Move down 4 times to 'text to speech turn on', and select it.
Pausing text to speech
