Introduction

According to Yumee, Ho, Wong & Borschel 10.1016/j.jsurg.2017.07.016


(2017), it is a must that every educational institution must ensure that its
subordinates must have a contribution to research activities as it have an
integral impact on the institution and ones’ growth and improvement. For it
to be attained, Ibegbulam & Jacinta 10.1016/j.acalib.2015.09.007 (2016)
and Silver 10.1016/j.ipe.20.08.08.03 (2008) cited that the primary factors
that every personnel consider to do research are career improvement and
future achievements, as well as, self development.
Due to the new trends and activities that can be done by the employees,
Smeltzer, Sharts-Hopko, Cantrell, Herverly, Wise, Jenkinson & Nthenge (2014)
cited that, there are factors that needed to be addressed first to maintain the
balance of one’s time and according to Hollister 10.1016/j.ipe.20l.08.08.037
(2008) and Yumeen, Ho & Wog 10.1016/j.jjsurg.2017.07.016 (2107) the factors
that influences the employees to do research is its relevance to one’s life and
resources, as well as, their capability to produce an output and the availability of
the management's’ support.
The objective of this study is to help the employees of the service department in
Our Lady of Fatima University to better understand how they might increase their
success in the research and publication output.
Methods
This study utilized a descriptive research design to identify the factors that
contribute to research and publication output among service department
employees in OLFU Cabanatuan campus,
