Course Description:
Rationale The course deals with the fundamental concepts and principles in the use of biological materials and
products for business and enterprise. It describes innovative research and discusses marketing
strategy and business registration & operation including the policies on intellectual property rights. It
also covers the development of a viable business plan and feasible innovative product/s in
biotechnology.
1. Understand various methods and tools for evaluating the entrepreneurial concept.
2. Learn the key elements required to write a successful business plan.
3. Generate several ideas for potential businesses based on important trends
and practices according to one’s interests.
4. Develop each entrepreneurial mindset in biotechnology.

ATTENDANCE
CHED & University Requirement:
Every student is required to attend no less than 80% of the class hours/days required for every course to earn
the corresponding credits.
A student who incurs absences in excess of 20% of the required class days shall receive a grade of “FA” and
shall not be allowed to take the final examinations for the course.
Class attendance should be both regular and punctual. Three (3) of tardiness of at least 15 minutes shall be
counted as one absence.
