• You will need to watch the Sanrizz Part II video, read the video summary and the Beer
& Eisenstat (2000) article before you complete the three parts of the online tutorial:
• Part 1: Introduction to the MACRO part of the course
• Part 2: Reflection on the Sanrizz case
• Part 3: Revision of Change Theories

Tutorial Activity:
• You now know how the Rizzo brothers intend to expand the business – by promoting the
Sanrizz brand and opening new salons. You also know about the various activities
involved in this hairdressing business from both parts of the video.
• Answer the questions below to develop a change plan.
• Use the organisational change model and information on the action-research process
(McShane et al., 2000, p. 500), your responses to online tutorial 8 reflection questions on
the Sanrizz case, lecture notes on organisational change.
• Beer & Eisenstat (2000) article will be needed to evaluate the need for change (questions 6
& 7 below)

4. What type of intervention is needed? How will you implement the change? (e.g.,
unfreeze, change, refreeze).
5. How will you monitor results, review the change, and feedback any fine-tuning?
6. Use the Beer & Eisenstat (2000) 6 Silent Killers to evaluate how well Sanrizz is prepared
for this change. Make sure you define each of the Six Silent Killers and ascertain whether
they are present at Sanrizz. Explain your answer and use examples from the case to
illustrate your answer.
7. Using the concept of “Organisational Fitness Profiling” (Beer & Eisenstat, 2000), provide
recommendations that can improve the organisational change endeavours at Sanrizz.
