My formal advanced education in Mechanical

engineering started with my undergraduate program at the Manipal University, Udupi. As is often said,
the journey of exploring the realm of knowledge and probing into the unknown is infinite and strenuous.
However, to me, the desire to fulfill ambitions and the joy from discoveries prevailed over any sense of
hardship. My undergraduate program was as rewarding as it was joyful. After completion of my
undergraduate course I completed my graduation from SASTRA University, Thanjavur.

I have been an active member of academic research projects as – DST funded, project titled “Design and
Development of Innovative Parallel Microchannel with Mitigated Flow Maldistribution” at IIT Indore as
Junior research fellow (JRF), where I was involved with experimental investigation of maldistribution and
its effect on heat transfer performance of parallel microchannel heat sinks, also numerical simulation of
the same using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Numerical simulation of two phase flow separation
in a mini channel (MTech.)

I am deeply interested in thermal engineering as a lifelong career and I am determined to develop myself
into a well-trained thermal engineer. Yet I am clearly aware the immense efforts I have to make in order
to fulfill this aspiration. This constitutes the very motivation behind my present application for PhD
research scholar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Dharwad.

At, IIT Dharwad, research in the field of thermal engineering is one of the strongest research orientations,
which matches my past experiences. Strong educational background of faculty members is also an
important factor. Finally, your curriculum is scientifically designed, requiring students not only to focus on
core subjects within their own discipline but also go beyond their discipline to develop and broaden the
knowledge base. All these make me believe that I will receive the best education I can expect. I would like
to be a part of this institution, where I can utilize my skills, knowledge & talent. This would be the right
opportunity and I strongly believe that if given a chance I will prove myself and my contribute to the
growth & success of the institution.
