Interview about Speech Contexts (Intrapersonal and Interpersonal)

Midterm Mini Task in Oral Communication in Context

1. The students will be grouped according to their preferred future course. Each output could be
accomplished by one (1) up to seven (7) members, meaning, the interview could be conducted by an
individual only, a pair, a triad or a group consisting of 4 to 7 members.
2. The students will conduct an interview with a strand-related professional or a professional of their
currently-perceived college course.
3. The group should come up with interview questions about the strategies incorporated by the
professional in developing his/her intrapersonal and interpersonal skills in the workplace.
4. The group should document the interview through pictures (for evidence) and video (for further
reference on making the narratives).
5. The final output is a WRITTEN NARRATIVE REPORT (PDF FORM) of the interview and the interviewers’
reflections.
6. This is the FORMAT of the narrative report:
a. FIRST PAGE – Title Page (Format attached in the document)
b. SUCCEEDING PAGES
i. Background of the Interviewee
ii. Interview Questions and Answers
iii. Interviewers’ Reflections
iv. Pictures
7. The output will be graded based on the following criteria:
a. PREPARATION (3 points)
i. The group followed the scheduled timeline of accomplishments.
ii. Person interviewed is extremely appropriate for the topic.
iii. The group consults the teacher for guidance.
b. INTERVIEW QUESTIONS (4 points)
i. Open-ended questions
ii. Questions designed to draw out information from person interviewed
iii. Questions are relevant to the topic
iv. Questions are asked in logical order and designed to build on previous questions
c. INTERVIEW REFLECTIONS (4 points)
i. Each interviewer provides relevant and meaningful reflections and realization about the
interview, the interviewee’s answers and the main topic.
ii. The interviewers also noted the interviewee’s verbal and non-verbal communicative
aspects.
d. NARRATIVE REPORT’S FORMAT AND MECHANICS (4 points)
i. The narrative report follows the correct format and contains grammar, punctuations and
use of words.
8. Timeline of Accomplishments
a. The groups should have interviewed their prospect already before August 13, 2018.
b. Each section will be given one (1) class hour anytime from August 13-16, 2018 to complete the
task.
c. The submission of the mini task will be on August 17, 2018, Friday.
*The output is not the VIDEO of the interview but a WRITTEN NARRATIVE REPORT. There’s no need to print the
narrative report. A soft copy of the PDF DOCUMENT will be submitted instead to the subject teacher.
*If the interviewee tend to answer in FILIPINO, there’s no need to translate it in ENGLISH. Narrate the answer as
it is and encode it italicizedly.
